He chuckles a bit when Spike startles, but there's no malice in it. He likes being admired, after all - and he's certainly not above doing a bit of oggling himself!

[He swigs at the whisky while he thinks, enjoying the faint buzz it's starting to bring with it, and considers Spike thoughtfully.]
I always feel like you're expecting something to go wrong with us. Like you don't trust me not to put my great big foot in it. Which I'll admit is probably fair enough, but I feel like you don't believe there's enough of a lure about you to draw me in, beyond the obvious. [The obvious being the physical, but he's not leering this time. He's serious. And well aware he could get this kicked right back at him, but he's going to say it anyway.] It's almost like you think you're not good enough for me or something? Or perhaps that I'm not good enough, I don't know!
[Perhaps not the best thing to try and talk about on this day of all days, especially when he can't even really work out what he's trying to say, but it's what's at the front of his mind right now.]
