{392} action - closed to Yuuki, Mika, and Yuu
(slightly post-dated to later afternoon)
____

[Both Yuuki and Zero hate that they have to do this, even despite knowing that it should be done now. The more they put it off, the more difficult it will become. Yuu and Mika have already begun to grow attached to them— or, rather maybe to go so far as trusting them. Granted, Zero is aware it's (likely) more so Yuu with that part, but regardless. He and Yuuki (as well as Ai) hate how they've been dancing around the subject; to a degree Zero is almost surprised that the boys haven't been able to guess when it comes to Yuuki, especially, with how her fangs are often more visible than not, and how she often smiles.

Just a bit earlier Zero had contacted Yuu to invite he and Mika over. To a degree it's with the pretenses of having lunch together; it's not a lie, seeing how there's the fixings to make sandwiches set out in the kitchen. First, though, comes the difficult part.

Zero lets the two inside once they show at the door and then gestures to the couch for them to sit. He and Yuuki will remain standing for now, and briefly does he glance to her, as if they're really ready for this, regardless of the decision they won't back down from.]

There's something we want to talk to you two about.

[Zero almost wants to stall (already), but Yuuki agreed to let him do the talking for right now. Ai and Haruka are also aware of what's going on.]

[If it weren't for Yuu, Mika would probably walk away without asking anything. Just because he doesn't care they're vampires, doesn't mean he wants to be near them at the moment. He needs time to process the whole situation before really making a decision because Mika got close to one vampire already and it had ripped their family apart. Literally.

But since it seems as though Yuu isn't going anywhere just yet, he flops back on the couch - propping an elbow on the arm and then placing his chin in his hand. Mika doesn't look at either one of the "adults" in the room and leaves Yuu to ask all of the questions he knows is burning inside the other boy.

Zero has already offered to help with anything and Mika has pretty much turned him down already. He's standing by that at the moment but he does have one single question that he simply can't pass up.]

What do you mean your brother went with the vampire who killed your family?

[For a great number of the questions, there's little she can offer in way of explanation. Clearly the question in regards to Ichiru's brother is only something that Zero can answer himself. However... ]

I would say that you each are more similar to Zero than the opposite.

[Very much so. Ichiru, despite all his flaws, has never shown very much hatred toward vampires in general.]

I can't answer much for Zero and his brother. [She'll leave that to him, and rightfully so.] But I can tell you more about vampires within our world.

[After all, she very much understands the needs and desires of a vampire herself.]

We aren't the only vampires within this place. But we are in the majority, and recently outside of ourselves, numbers have dwindled. There are certainly more humans than vampires, but we aren't the only supernatural creatures.

[Demons and other supernatural beings have and do inhabit the dome. She pauses, looking back and forth between the boys before continuing on]

In our world, there are different types of vampires but in general our consumption and need for blood is the same, with a few exceptions. Blood tablets are widely used, and while I don't find them very sating, they help curb the thirst we experience for blood.

[They certainly aren't a cure, but in a pinch can be useful, even if she finds them unpleasant.]

If done with consent a vampire can feed from a human, which may be done among most the vampires classes. But most humans are not aware of the existence of vampires, so it is also considered a little taboo. [Well... more likely, vampires that drink from humans erase their memories after.]

More often, the most sating blood that one can drink is from their significant other, friends, or family. So I tend to believe that it is more likely that vampires drink from other vampires. That's the case for all of us within this house. And for my father, myself, and Ai, our fangs are poisonous, so we would be unable to drink from anyone other than another vampire without various consequences.

[The pureblood certainly have various difficulties when it comes to such. She glances to Zero...]

Your other questions though, I can't really answer for him...

It's all as she says. And yes, we don't need to necessarily consume human blood if we don't want to- if we have family or close friends who are also vampires.

[He'll start with. It's easier; they're straight up facts, and nothing (ultimately) directly having to do with either of their personal lives or what kinds of opinions they have. Mostly.

For the record, too, as he imagines either of the two asking about Yuuki's remark about her family's fangs, he'll explain further-]

There are different classes that a vampire falls upon in our world; it's like a pyramid scale. The higher the level, the less human blood the vampire has in their lineage. Which also dictates just how powerful they are. At the very bottom are Level D's, who are ex-humans. Level C are the common vampires, which make up a fair amount of society. Level B's are the noble class. They typically have a particular ability in addition to the usual heightened senses, inhuman speed and strength, accelerated healing, and long lifespans. Some of the nobles Yuuki and I know have such skills as ice and fire manipulation, creating illusions, and manipulating their blood to use as a weapon.

Level A's are the purebloods. They're at the very tip of the scale, and while they make up the least number vampire society, they're by far the most powerful out of them all. It wouldn't be far off to consider them godlike. [He glances to Yuuki for a moment.] That's the kind of vampire that Yuuki, Ai, and Haruka are. Purebloods have not even a drop of human blood within their lineage. They also live the longest- even well into the thousands. They're the only vampire capable who can turn a human.

Technically there is also another part to different classes, but it's lower than a Level D. It's the Level E- or the End Level. If a human who doesn't drink the blood of the pureblood who bit them, thus completing the process, the individual will eventually drop to this level. These vampires lose their sense of self and attack indiscriminately. They aren't meant to exist. That. . . is something that should have happened with me. But for a couple of reasons it didn't.

[Looking to Yuu, then.]

In our world, to be a hunter is something one is born into. It's not like following in the footsteps of those before you, but an actual bloodline. Hunters are not one-hundred percent human, but instead have traces of vampire DNA within them. This grants them extra strength that allows them to level the battleground a bit more. We also possess special weapons which aren't capable of harming humans. Like the gun I used, which I told you about.

As for me. . . I was born into that lineage. I was raised and trained as such. I identify as a hunter even now, despite how I also acknowledge being a vampire, and have also accepted it. [just a faint smile, although not especially amused] Actually, I'm in line to be the president of the Hunters' Association. Plenty of them don't like the idea in the slightest that I'm also a vampire. It's completely unprecedented.

[He stalls, however, in regards to Ichiru. His attention shifts to Mika.]

. . .You're right about Ichiru. Twins are a curse among hunters. If they're conceived, the outcome is always one of two: either both are stillborn, or one of them absorbs the strength of the other while still in the womb, resulting in the birth of only one. I was that one, yet my brother was born, anyway. [one of his hands balls into a fist.] He was chronically weak, and deemed unfit to be a hunter. He consistently would tell me that he wished he had been born as a part of me, or ask why he had to be the way he was. Ichiru, he. . . at some point, a darkness began to spread through his heart. There's a much longer story behind it, but, yes. He had a direct hand in both the death of out parents, and me being bitten and turned by the pureblood whom he fled with afterwards. Yet, the first time I saw him after four years, he had been cured of his weaknesses and ailments because of that woman.
