Day 391 - Open Action
Martha had hid in her apartment for a few days. She'd apologized to everyone she had hurt. And now, it was time to brave the world again. That wasn't her original plan. Martha's original plan was to stay in her flat forever, but she was apparently out of practice stockpiling. Besides, there were things to do. So she took a shower, styled her hair, and put on makeup. That would help right.

First on her list of things to do - destroy a camera. That was easy enough though. All it involved was buying a hammer and finding a good cement surface to beat the thing until it was just tiny tiny pieces. When she was done, she swept all the bits up and put it in a bin. Oddly enough, Martha felt lighter after that. Light enough to go about the rest of her daily errands.

Said errands took her to the library for a book or two, the convenience store for more food (she had to restock her stock pile after all), and some of the various shops for sundry items. She tried to avoid people when she could, but it wasn't always possible. Anyone could easily run into her anywhere.

Considering how the residence he, Yuuki, and Ai shared now included Yuuki's father, and at times Yuu and Mika, Zero had to replenish the kitchen even more so. Not that he minded. So, like usual, the cart he's pushing is very full.

The only difference with today is how badly he needed a distraction. Yesterday he learned he had a son (even if from very far into his own future), and now he was suddenly gone again? It wasn't fair.

He certainly does recognize Martha upon seeing her. Even more immediate is being able to tell she's definitely human. He's almost about to just not say anything, actually feeling bad about the other day- even if at that moment it was only to protect others.

"I see you're back to your usual self." It wasn't a question. Nor was he speaking harshly.

It was interesting what she had retained from that day. Scars, guilt, fear of the one who shot her. She had been aware there was someone else in the produce section with her, but she hadn't realized who it was until he spoke. The sound of his voice was enough to cause her to freeze in the action of picking out a tomato.

A moment of internal panic replaced with an inner monologue to calm down. Martha took a deep breath and plucked a tomato from the display, bringing it to her face to smell if it was ripe or not.

"I am. Alive and mostly whole."

Torn apart by guilt. Scarred and sore.

	Even while she keeps her composure the best she can, he can almost hear the way her heart is affected. It doesn't need to be commented on. "That's good," he starts with. "I'm sorry, anyway. 	She notes his silence and sudden discomfort. Part of her feels bad that he is uncomfortable now. Part of her is just vindictive. "They work really well with the werewolf clawmarks and the vampire bite also adorning my body. Creates a lovely symmetry, you know?" Ok. A lot vindictive. Mostly, she just hurts. 	He knows that emotional scars are far more painful than anything physical could ever be. But this isn't about him at all. "I already know that apologies do nothing." Yet he had to, anyway. Martha inhaled sharply and closed her eyes, willing herself to calm down.

"You did what you thought was best to keep people safe. You had no way of knowing whether I would turn back or not. And considering how little we actually know of each other, you probably didn't even know I am typically human. I suppose I shouldn't fault you for any of it. I know I shouldn't fault you for any of it. Hell, I'd probably have done the same thing if our roles were reversed. But it doesn't mean I'm not still angry. It doesn't mean that me... human Martha gets to feel all of that on top of the terrible guilt."

And yet, he still may have acted the same way even if he hadn't been affected by all of what was going on that day. He's always been a hunter. It was simply his memories that were messed with.

"I would have expected you to, as well." Were their positions switched up, that is. He still does as such, seeing how he's already, and always has been a vampire.

"You're right, though. I still had my memories of this place. Had I known you already, as a human, my actions would have been different. How you're feeling makes obvious sense."

Martha's eyes found his. She didn't know he was a vampire. She didn't know what he had experienced that day. All she knew was that he was the man that shot her, and that did cause fear. Which in turn made her think about how Gaeta, or Reid, or any of the others she attacked might feel when they see her now.

"Thank you for your apology Zero. I am not in the position to forgive you yet, but I don't think that my anger will be long lived."

	It was a messy day as a whole. "That's fine." He's never exactly had an issue with anyone not forgiving him, nor if they felt any other negative emotions. Although he's glad enough that things will come in time. "I'll be on my way, then. Sorry to bother you." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Martha nods and continues perusing. It's not until he leaves that she lets out a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding and lets her hands tremor the way they had wanted to. This was going to be a problem wasn't it? (Reply to this) (Parent)
