[390] open beach mingle;
[Welcome newbies and today-only newbies alike, while you're getting accustomed to the sights and sounds here's a few more. Rebecca opens a channel on the communicator with a bright sunny view of herself on the beach, water in the background and bright blue eyes focused on the lens. While she talks she'll swing the view around, letting snippets of the set up of a volleyball net be seen as well as a few tables worth of baked goods (thank you Chuck) and a sexy redhead boyfriend working grill.]

Hey guys. If you're looking for something to do or want some free food, come by the beach in sector one. My name's Rebecca to make introductions short and we're having a fun get together that's open ended, mostly so I can work on my tan. [She winks. There's more to it than that but she can elaborate later to the people honestly interested. And with a hopeful bite of her lip:] If you remember me from any time before, let's catch up too? We've got some drinks and when it starts to get dark I'm going to try and dig a fire pit. No wardens are around to tell me not to light things on fire so that's exactly what I'm going to do.

[OOC: Rebecca's network replies will have their own thread down below, and you're totally invited to make whatever you'd like of the post in your own comments as well. It's something of a beach party/ mingle with food (pies and the like, courtesy of Chuck), drinks, beach sports and tanning and Becca digging a fire pit later on for people interested. The beach has barbeques (also one manned by Aidan), huts and cabanas and a few harmless fish in the water as well.]

Good. [Do as I say not as I do. Or else you'll have six kids of your own, honey.]

Alright, alright. [Back to taking you home.] Anyway, uh. If we aren't talking romance, you have the option now of telling me how school's going or what sort of stuff you're into. Art, history... computers? [SO HOPEFUL.]

[ Oh God he'd lop off his balls right now if he had to. No more babies. No more poop. His sisters can deal with all that. ]

School's fine, I guess. I mean, 's not hard or anythin' but it's not really that interesting. [ So the opposite of daddy. He's doing well but good god he cannot bring himself to really care. ] I like music.

Music? Do you play an instrument, or anything? [Do you sing? Do you hear her growing prouder of her not-yet-son?

Also she's so lax about school. As long as you're... happy.]

Guitar, yeah. I want to play the drums but dad says I have to do it in the barn and it smells in there.

[ He wrinkles his nose, dissatisfied. Don't ruin his rockstar dreams, dad! ]

[So she has a rockstar child. She's okay with this. Very okay.]

Maybe if we find time you should play something for me - us, your uh... dad and I. [Christ that's so weird to say.]

Uh, yeah... yeah I guess. I could do that. [ He's feeling nervous now, like when he was younger and somehow granny convinced him to sing at the Winter Solstice. It was fine but wow his palms got so sweaty. ]

Hope you're less tone deaf than I am.

[ He gives her a look. It's fine, you can say drunk. They give booze to tiny children back home, he's definitely lived through his first ill advised hangover. ]

I dunno, you usually join in like everyone else over the holidays.

Yeah? [Crookedly grinning, whether that says she's typically drunk or more of a social singer with age is unknown.]

Guess I've got good reasons to be happy. [Said just as playfully but later it'll be one of the thing she focuses on, realizing with a guilting sense of envy of her other life that she really likes the idea of having that. A family to celebrate holidays with.]

Oy, head up these stairs. We're almost home-- it'll be the door on the left. I taught you left from right, right?

[ Both, possibly, tho there's usually drinks involved. That's just part of the holiday. ]

Mooom. [ He rolls his eyes so loudly. ] I'm not a baby, jeeze.

I know, I know. [She snickers, arm around his shoulders while leading him home.]

C'mon in and help Mommy clean up from the last time she was here so it looks nice for Daddy and your sister.
