So um, hi guys...

Not that anyone's panicking or anything. But uh, just for the curious... At what point are we going to start panicking? Asking for a friend.

Should someone come up with a PSA before people turn storefronts into disasters out of Black Friday shopping videos? Y'know, shoving each other and pulling hair, yanking flashlights out of kids hands, knocking over...

[Not important.] Not critiquing! Just suggesting.

[ Haha hey buddy guess who's having these same concerns. ]

There should be a statement — should've been when this started, even if just to say that there's awareness of the situation. I don't know what's going on yet but it doesn't look like it's going in a good direction.

Lack of communication doesn't really help.

Does anything ever go in a good direction here? [Wait, don't answer that.]

We definitely need to do something. Even if it's like, that other guy said? Work on some plans in case we have to start rationing or if these power outages get bad. We may be breathing digital air but it'd kinda suck if we stopped having it to breathe.

Right. This being digital doesn't change the experience. [ But maybe that's something he should explore later. ] The record for surviving without food is 21 days. At least we have fresh water for now, but... if it goes bad, it'll go fast.

Thaaat's the thing. I like food. And eating. And also staying alive...

[And ugh.] We can't just go full military either and ration too hard, but it's a good idea to start getting into before all the shelves are totally empty. Maybe some friendly encouragement to share your pantry with um, thy neighbor?

No point in rationing when all the food is gone. [ So yeah, sooner rather than later. Should've been addressed yesterday when the bots didn't come back. ]

I'd do it myself but I'm not with the Defence Force anymore.

Yeah I uh, don't have a membership badge for it either. [Despite the frequent suggestions to join.]

If they've been talking about it on a filter, I haven't seen it - but it's a public feed we need. But I figured we could all knock heads and maybe come up with a good plan of how to go through it? I'll hopefully chat with Kitty and get her view and maybe the other guy. [The beefcake one? Jim? Jack?]

We also have a few inmates who don't eat the food we eat and might need rationing more seriously. Before we become their food.

[ Jimbo sounds about right. Jimbo Hotass. ]

Let me know what they say. I'd hate to take initiative if they're already planning something.

[ Yeah, that's what it is. ]

We're on it, Peter.

Have you seen that? Things turning violent or goods being hoarded? Our last sweeps didn't show anything like that, but we're trying to keep an eye out, so if you see something let us know. [They can't have eyes on everyone at all times. Also, creepy if they did. The sentinels or whatever the big bots with the tasers are called are still functioning at the last check, but they're also rarely first on the scene and could end up going offline at any time. And, obviously, she doesn't want to leave their security to those things.]

[He can't psychically tell people are working behind locked threads, tho.]

I'm just saying that's something we'd really like to avoid, right? Because trust me - if people'll fight over a five dollar toaster we really don't want to see what they'll do over the last loaf of bread, do we? We - you? The DF? I don't know, somebody should probably tell someone to not shiv someone else over the last pizza roll.

[He got screwed with Spidey-sense! He should totally see about getting Spide-sense v2 with bracket-reading features. Talk to Deadpool.]

[Kitty nods and looks at him thoughtfully as it catches up to her that as much as her long time here is a benefit it also keeps her from seeing the place the way the more average prisoner would. She's the exception at nearly a year (just a week away). They don't all know the history she knows. They haven't heard every time she's gone up and explained the basics of what to do in an unknown situation. What is she up to now? She lost count a long time ago. They can't look back and know there's never been a riot. Maybe one theft ever? One person who did some hoarding? Though she does have her eye on you, Kamui, since you're back at this particular time. For a prison they seem to bring an abundance of people who are especially considered with the general welfare. Not that a single person can't be quick to disrupt things.]

Yes. Fully on board with avoiding that. I'm going to be addressing everyone shortly. Three-days of anything is very unusual around here. [enough that it worries her too.] We've had something like this happen before though. It was a full outage. Things got pretty cold. [That's what will kill you long before the last snack bar is gone. Their current situation is more stable...for now. But she still wants to warn people to have warm clothes just in case.]

It's hard to tell where they're going to go from this. I suspect it's just the foreplay.

If we're having glitches, sector six is probably having them too. Do we have any plans for making sure we can keep all the spooky things contained? I mean, I've got web- and I can keep tabs on it but watching that area especially might be good. Pizza rolls and raptor things. Top priorities. [Where has his life lead him.]

I'm not excited for what might be the grand finale.

It's a possibility. When they've come through in the past it's felt more deliberate. Only specific types were let out or they were the only ones who wanted to come out. But it doesn't mean they couldn't all come through here.

If the full barrier goes down we don't have anything that can stop that. [Sad but true.] It's a big area they'd need to cover. Just getting people inside with entrances and access points blocked off would keep them safe from the things that have gotten out in the past. [The others? That could be a different story. They were intelligent. That could make them more dangerous, but also less because they might not choose to attack.]

Are there any points we can turn into rendezvous if stuff goes sour? Where to send people, stuff like that. Athletic complex, library - those seem popular choices.

And does HQ need any stock drop offs? I move around pretty fast, I can get you all the flashlights you can carry... or well, as many that might be left.

Right? Which is why I was hoping we had some plans in action to... not panic.

Because life is a lot better when you're not panicking. In my honest opinion.

If we don't have a plan yet, I'm sure we will soon.

You should set a good example and not panic, so other people will follow your lead.

[She has no idea what Black Friday shopping is, but she gets what he means.]

It's probably a good idea. I don't feel too worried yet... [But then she can't die...] but it's best to keep people from panicking.

[The last thing any of them want is chaos.]

The warden didn't seem too worried this morning, if that means anything. The message was broken up, but from what I could make out it sounded as though this was just a short inconvenience.

It mentioned the words 'technological glitch' which in relation to being alive inside a coded environment is kinda horrifying if you consider that our entire being right now is data. We may have bodies elsewhere but our consciousness exists inside Marina right now as code. So if that code's threatened, it could be bad news. Maybe not - but uh, I've seen movies that make it out to be a bad thing. Die in the game, die in real life... [So happy, Peter. So joyful.]

But fingers crossed.

Admittedly I'm not much of an expert on virtual reality. [All of that sounds bad of course]

A lot of weird things have happened in this place in the past. I'm sure we'll figure our way through it, but I agree. We should prepare for unfavorable consequences. And all of us should be looking out for one another.

Yeah, go team and all that. For sure. [But at least somebody's gotta be concerned, right?]

There might not be that much we can do since this is code, but here's to hoping.

Maybe... more so I keep wondering if there's a way to take advantage of it all. But I wouldn't know how to do that and successfully wake us back up, either.
