Day 378 | Open Action
[Action; Sector 4; outside the new flower shop]

[Between forced sleep and a grueling heatwave, Yuuki's managed to keep herself plenty busy despite whatever shenanigans are tossed around the domed prison. From gardening, to gathering supplies and lots of set up she's barely remained still in one place for more than a few minutes. Anyone who frequents sector four may have seen her around much more often, in conjunction with a new shop that has come together rather nicely over the course of the last few days. It settles in nicely among the businesses and brick buildings. Beautiful flowers and plants decorate the entrance, with an elegant yet simple sign overhead that reads 'Nine White Orchids'.

The sign that would indicate that they're open is flipped around to indicate that it isn't yet. But the door is propped wide open with a wedge which proves that someone is inside. A soft, feminine voice can be heard humming inside, lyrics heard intermittently. The sweet, dulcet tones reach outside the shop, intertwining invisibly around anyone within hearing distance. Be careful not to listen too closely, or it's possible to find oneself inside the shop without really thinking about it.

But then maybe you're the type who would have peeked inside anyhow?

Otherwise, the girl humming to herself might set foot outside on her own, a pot of flowers in hand, should one remain unaffected or linger outside the door.]

Yuuri-kun, can I talk to you if you have a moment?

(OOC: Her singing voice can have an enchanting affect on people (Particularly vampires if relevant or desired). Feel free to use that if you like. Otherwise feel free to resist or remain unaffected! She's not intentionally doing anything. Her desire to do well and be able to draw people into the shop is simply leaking out. Here's a Permissions Post for anyone who might find it useful.)

[She pauses midway as she lifts the device back up to her ear.]

Oh- [She smiles a bit and lowers it once more, grateful. It's nice that outside of the Japanese here, there are a few people who can understand the language, too.]

Thank you. I appreciate that. [It's kind of him.] I usually leave it off when with Ai-chan or Yuuri-kun at the apartment. Zero, too. [She hums thoughtfully] They aren't terribly uncomfortable or anything, but it's nicer without.

[ . . . ] I'm so impressed though. Your Japanese seems perfect. I really wish I could do the same for you.

[ His Britannian has an accent, a mild one that sometimes sounds sort of vaguely American, sometimes sort of vaguely English... but his Japanese is Tokyo-dialect, Tokyo-accented. Nothing remotely foreign-sounding about it, really. ] I've been studying for a long time, but it's no substitute for being a native speaker.

So I appreciate the practice. [ Even more ingratiating! ] I'd be happy to give your ear a break, anytime you like.

[ Considering how to phrase the obvious question... ] Might I ask who Ai-san is?

[ It's too bad he doesn't have any excuse to break out his keigo. Desu-and-masu forms are probably as formal as she'd like him to get... since they're already on a first-name basis. ]

	We're family. We-- look a lot a like. [There's a faint smile and she touches the edges of her short hair self-consciously.] You can tell us apart though by our hair length and style. [At that she manages to smile and laughs in good nature.] I'm just a kid myself, so it's weird to think that way. [Although she is two years older!]

It is though. I haven't officially opened yet. [She glances around the room. She thinks it's coming together, even if she's a little nervous about it all.] I wanted to do something where I'd have the opportunity to help something grow. Or maybe just something that could just bring a smile.

[People can't help but to feel a little happy when they receive flowers. It lets them know they're being thought of, and everyone wants to feel needed or somehow necessary.] It's something silly and little, but... [She needs it. Emotionally.] It's okay to be selfish about something like this, right?

I guess that's true, huh. [She's always tried to take care of Zero. But then he's always been older than her.] It's my turn to step up.

[She is doing her best. As for the rest... it is selfish, in a way. Although it's a harmless sort. For the most part, she just wants to prove that she can do something right now without failing. A flower shop is a very small step.

But it's a step.]

Who knows? At the very least it'll help kill time. Between this, the defense force, home and school I think I'll be able to keep busy. [Which is also needed right now.]

Heh. I don't know that I've ever been asked that before. I suppose... [ There are so many flowers in his memories. The Aries Villa was surrounded by them. And -- for some reason, the sunflower field he and Suzaku found that day... the sight of them swaying in the breeze... is a potent memory. Maybe just because that was the day his world fell apart for the second time. Softly: ] I don't dislike them.

[ Coming back to himself a little: ] It probably depends on the kind of flower, too. I don't have any allergies, though.

Mm... [There really is a vast amount of different types. There's so many that she's not sure if she can necessarily pick a favorite. Although-]

I enjoy sunflowers and lilacs. Roses too, I suppose. [Most flowers are beautiful in their own way.] They're something simple, but can bring a smile, trigger memories or convey a meaning. I like that you can do so much with something so small.

[She smiles!]

Since you're here, you should pick something out to take home with you. Whatever you feel most drawn to.

[ Musingly, ] Adoration and the first stirrings of love. [ Pretty sure she'd mean purple lilacs. And dwarf sunflowers, if they're in a bouquet... His eyes flicking around the shop, adding with a smile, ] A pleasant combination. Certain roses would work well with it.

[ The tall sunflowers in his memory... pride, false riches, admiration... so many meanings, not all of them happy. ]

...Thank you. I'm sure we'll be regular customers, even if not today. [ Heh. His eyes flit over the displays. Euphie would probably love to have fresh flowers every day... ]

That's right! Although I'll confess that I liked them before I knew the meaning. [Her smile fades a bit, and she idly adjusts a couple of the flowers in an arrangement beside her.] My brother was having me learn the various meanings.

[There was so much time to kill during that period of time that she didn't mind it so much. Although they never had flowers around the house. Not any live ones.]

'We', though? [So someone he's close to.] I'd be happy if you and your friend were to frequent us here.

There's nothing wrong with just liking their aesthetics, too. [ Taking note of that. Her phrasing might be more revealing than she intended. "Having" her learn? Not "Teaching" her? Not "helping" her learn them...? ]

Ah. Yes, I admit I was thinking my sister might particularly appreciate flowers. [ The other 'we' he might have meant, the friendly one also encompassing Suzaku... he's not so sure. Does Suzaku like flowers...? ]

[Unfortunately for the noble, Hanabusa Aidou was in charge of teaching her and her education in general. Although learning about flowers was never top priority. Moreso... her more difficult subjects.

There's... a pause. She suppresses a small, completely unfair, feeling of jealousy. His sister is here with him. It might be wrong to wish such a thing onto someone you love, but- Yuuki does wish her own sibling here. And what's more, if he were here and she had the ability to keep him here with her, without the threat of disappearing, she would.

Here, people would be safe from him. And he'd be safe from the fate that is meant to befall him, too.]

Your sister...? [Who, she wonders.] That must be bittersweet. Trapped here isn't the ideal location, but- having a familiar face can make it easier.

While the circumstances are strange... I'm glad you both have each other. [She's sincere. For all of her faults, one thing Yuuki has always been is sincere.

A little shy, she lifts a finger up and scratches her cheek.]

And that would be nice if it's true. I've never had many girlfriends before. _{There's Yori-chan, but her dad told her--} [Ah- she shakes her head. There's no real reason to go into an explanation. And in the end, she had become her friend because she wanted to, not just because her father had told her to. Yuuki herself hadn't realized until later in life that her father had attempted to create an arranged friendship for political reasons in the first place.]

Um-- it's more that most of the people I know back home are incredibly difficult individuals, so it's refreshing to get to know Euphie-san, and everyone else here.
