Day 378 | Open Action
[Action; Sector 4; outside the new flower shop]

[Between forced sleep and a grueling heatwave, Yuuki's managed to keep herself plenty busy despite whatever shenanigans are tossed around the domed prison. From gardening, to gathering supplies and lots of set up she's barely remained still in one place for more than a few minutes. Anyone who frequents sector four may have seen her around much more often, in conjunction with a new shop that has come together rather nicely over the course of the last few days. It settles in nicely among the businesses and brick buildings. Beautiful flowers and plants decorate the entrance, with an elegant yet simple sign overhead that reads 'Nine White Orchids'.

The sign that would indicate that they're open is flipped around to indicate that it isn't yet. But the door is propped wide open with a wedge which proves that someone is inside. A soft, feminine voice can be heard humming inside, lyrics heard intermittently. The sweet, dulcet tones reach outside the shop, intertwining invisibly around anyone within hearing distance. Be careful not to listen too closely, or it's possible to find oneself inside the shop without really thinking about it.

But then maybe you're the type who would have peeked inside anyhow?

Otherwise, the girl humming to herself might set foot outside on her own, a pot of flowers in hand, should one remain unaffected or linger outside the door.]

[Private to Yuuri Shibuya]

Yuuri-kun, can I talk to you if you have a moment?

(OOC: Her singing voice can have an enchanting affect on people (Particularly vampires if relevant or desired). Feel free to use that if you like. Otherwise feel free to resist or remain unaffected! She's not intentionally doing anything. Her desire to do well and be able to draw people into the shop is simply leaking out. Here's a Permissions Post for anyone who might find it useful.)

Kind of. My mom was more into it than I was, but our whole family's connected to nature so I've gotten more into it lately.

[A connection, she means. It's all raw instinct for her. She hesitates before saying,] Would you be open to selling herbs too? It'd help with magic.

I have a green house and garden. I can definitely add herbs into the mix! [And it would be fun, especially if it would help someone else out.] Besides, a friend of mine suggested something similar. Although in his case it was for cooking...

[Curiosity is clear though, and she leans forward in interest.]

Magic, though? Like mixing spells together?

Really? Thank you.

[At Yuuki's question, she nods.] Yeah. I'm not exactly an alchemist, but back home, I could do all sorts of spells. Locator spells, barrier spells, plant growth... you name it, my family had a recipe for it.

. . . What I wouldn't have done for a locator spell a while ago. [Prior to coming here] That's amazing, though.

[She cocks her head] Does that make you a... [She doesn't want to assume, but-] A witch...?

Well, now you've got them whenever you want. [She means it too, as she holds up her fingers and wiggles them.]

Right! I don't have my full strength here, but if you ever need something minor, I'm your girl.

[She can only sympathize to that.] The restrictions here can be a bit frustrating in that sense, huh. [It can be frustrating to feel as though there's a clamp upon your strength.]

I might take you up on that offer, though [While the person she had been searching for isn't present here in their virtual reality, that isn't to say he wont ever appear again.] That has to be a really handy ability. You wouldn't ever have to worry about losing your keys.

Sure. You know, I've never tried it on those. [She laughs.] Or well, anything ordinary.

Back home, it's one thing after another, so I'm more used to finding people than lost textbooks or phones.

Is it pretty turbulent at home, then?

[Not to be too invasive.]

I know a lot of people... they've been torn here from really difficult times. Whether just personal or politically. Some worlds are war torn.

[She nods.] I wouldn't say we're war torn, but we've got more than our fair share of chaos.

So I used to always want some peace and quiet. Thing is, now that I've got it? It feels unreal.

Well...

[She smiles a little sympathetically]

If peace and quiet is what you want here, I think you'll probably be disappointed.

That bad, huh? [Bonnie looks almost relieved.] I've heard bits and pieces, but I haven't been here long enough to experience it myself.

I disappeared for a while so I'm not sure how much it changed from the past, but... [She expels a sigh] It seems like the same old weirdness as before. Something strange happens every day or two.

[Her mouth twists up]

Sometimes it might be something fun and silly, but other times... not so much. What's more, while almost everyone here is genuinely kind and friendly, there have been past prisoners who have caused problems in the past. [Sigh] It's bad enough we have to deal with the wardens, but potential troublemakers can be a huge hassle too.

Hm. So some people might genuinely deserve to be in here...

[Technically, Bonnie does too. She did murder someone back home (even if he came back to life).]

Thanks for the heads-up. I can usually keep Damon in line, but I'm not so sure about anyone else.

There's some, anyway. Everyone is guilty of the crimes listed. The problem is that some aren't really crimes, and others aren't taken into context at all or don't fit the punishment.

[Like jaywalking... or gluttony.]

Damon-san isn't so bad, though. I mean-- usually I'm not sure what to make of him, and he teases a lot. [Like... a lot.] But he's always been fun to talk to.

I was wondering about that... [a small sigh] I'm definitely guilty of my crimes, but some of them seemed too minor for prison.

[She brightens a little - so someone else likes Damon? Like genuinely enjoys his company? That's (good) news to her.] He talks up a big game, and sometimes he can be... well, himself, but you're right. He's the best company I could've asked for.

I feel the same. [She hums...face crinkling up.] I don't really feel guilty for my crimes, so I'm sure it's similar for others.]</small>

[A close friend of Damon, though?]

It sounds like you're close, you and Damon. [Ehee] I'm glad that neither of you has to be alone here.

[She nervously tucks some hair behind her ears,] We're... yeah, we are.

I don't know how often Damon talks about it, but we were stuck together for four whole months. When it's just the two of you, you learn so much about who you're with, and well - I'm just glad we have other people to talk to.

[It would've gotten lonely in their other prison, had Damon not been around, and frankly, Bonnie's grateful for his company (then and now).]

I haven't spoken to him much since his amnesia... so he hasn't said anything about such a thing.

[Stuck together... in most instances she would think that just meant stuck working together in some sort of capacity. But this makes it sound more like they were genuinely stuck, just the two of them.]

If... it's just the two of you, it would be somewhat lonesome for you both. Being able to socialize and interact with others... it's important. I imagine not having anyone else to talk to would have been hard, but I'm glad it resulted in a closer relationship.

Ah, that's right, we were here before.

[It hasn't stopped feeling weird, honestly. Bonnie would seriously like to know what she and Damon had done or seen the last time around - maybe it would make the jitters in her stomach go away.]

It was hard, but it also... wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. We had each other, and that's what got us through the whole thing. [...] I hate that other people're trapped with us, even if it's also a relief. Is that wrong?

[She shakes her head.] No. Not really.

[Even if it may be a selfish thought. It's also a natural one.]

I think people are naturally social. Some of us might prefer to be alone sometimes, but- most people are happiest when they have a network of people they can rely on. I know if I was alone, I think I'd go nuts.

Most people would. [There's the voice of experience talkinhg, though it's not bitter as Bonnie had expected. She's sympathetic, mainly.]

I mean, I wouldn't wish prison on anyone, but if we're in this together, we might as well get to know each other.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone to disagree with you on that.

[And if they do, deep down she's sure no one wants to be truly alone.]

Anyway, what's that saying? Two heads are better than one!

Yuuki.

It's a pleasure getting to meet you, Bonnie. I hope you'll stop by the shop again. It would be nice if we get regular business.
