[It's a boring dream by Torchwood standards, an interesting one of your work doesn't consist of a top secret science fiction bunker, complete with mysterious alien gadgets lying everywhere, incomprehensible computer programs running on most of the screens and a pteranodon nesting high up near the roof and occasionally squawking to herself.

As for Ianto he's not doing anything as exciting as his surroundings. He's just cleaning up at the end of the day, throwing away empty pizza boxes ordered under the name of Torchwood, washing coffee mugs, dusting off keyboards, putting away discarded firearms. Maybe he's dreaming about this because he organizes thing even in his sleep. Or maybe he just missed his old routine.]

[He triggers the controls and switches on the lift and just like that it's starts rising up past the fountain. As they get closer to the top the paving slab above them moves aside, allowing theirs to take its place and leaving them standing next to the fountain in the plaza. It's night and deserted, although that may have more to do with it being a dream than the time of day.] Invisible lift. There's a perception filter on this, so even there was anyone around they wouldn't be able to see us.

	[ He doesn't tense, per se, though there is a moment of flinching as the ground starts to move. A little bit of a warning wouldn't have been so bad actually but he recovers quickly enough. [He did say to hold on. Admittedly that wasn't incredibly specific. Under better circumstances he'd love all this hand holding, and at the very least it makes him feel safer, more grounded here. Like they can get through all the shit that is Torchwood.]

That used to be the point of Torchwood; turn alien tech into things we can use. Jack put a stop to it when he took over about a decade ago. So some of that is left over from before. Some of it is just junk that falls through the Rift and we find a use for.

	Don't know what I was expecting. [ This but also not this. He looks out over the deserted plaza, taking in Cardiff. Never been, but Britain is Britain. There's something in the air that makes it feel like home and he's not sure he likes it. ] So no one can see us right now? Ignoring the fact that there's no one here to see us. 	Huh. [ Good enough and if Ianto is right about this being a dream (why wouldn't it be?) then why not take advantage? Spike moves his position, taking a few subtle steps until he's mostly behind Ianto, arms sliding to wrap around him, tugging him back to his chest. ] Almost a shame we don't have an unknowing audience. [Its been a long time since he was in a place like this for any reason other than tracking down some sort of alien artifact. And while he's danced with Jack plenty of times here at the parties they always throw in this place as well as that one time at Gwen's wedding they've never gone out dancing in a place like this. Another new experience, one that can be all theirs, something unique to them.]

[Everyone else always managed it just fine. Social lives, that is. He just never invited himself along to these things, and maybe that resulted in him never being invited anyway. He was so focused on keeping his head down when he started, on being unnoticed to protect Lisa that he got in the habit of hiding, of keeping to himself and never really shook it.

He puts it to the test, leaning in for a long kiss, hands drifting down from his waist to grope at his ass through the denim of his jeans and leather of his coat. How much do people notice, even in a dream?]

As it happens, no one is noticing. Too busy with their own lives or maybe dream magic is giving them an unusual amount of privacy. He pushes into the kiss with hunger, hands finding their way back to Ianto's hips to pull him in close. ]

[He could use a bit of that. He's too determined to ignore any memories of his life before Torchwood and while it's got it's own share of unusual memories it doesn't leave much time for fun. Maybe he's just never been good at that. He could use someone who brings it out in him, someone who he can kiss and touch and sway with here in this club. It's so normal and yet utterly abnormal because he's never done this sort of thing in a setting like this with another man, plus the vampire bit of course. Under normal circumstances it would make him nervous or self-conscious but maybe because this is a dream it doesn't feel that way. Or maybe it's that attitude about living a little bit rubbing off on him.]

[ Dream or not, Spike wouldn't allow for anyone to bother them. When he's committed he's committed, there's nothing more to it, and boy is he ever committed to this thing they have going for it. He was aiming for casual but now that they can actually do things he's quickly feeling the fierce obsessive protectiveness creep up again. Raptors, Tyki or homophobic assholes in a club, doesn't matter. He'd tear them to shreds.

He breaks the kiss after a moment, nuzzling affectionately. ]

[Whatever this is its something more than casual even if he doesn't quite know how it got there this fast. Maybe it's because they were friends first. He's told Spike things he's never shared with anyone else, trusted him and opened up to him before sex was involved in this at all. Maybe that makes it feel like this is more than just the start to a casual relationship filled with good sex. It's something else, a real relationship. He doesn't like labels, is always afraid to look more closely at these things. Maybe that's for the best just now.]
