[This has been an ... interesting day, to say the least. Damon's mood has been spiraling between rage, confusion, despair, a weird giddy joy that at least there are other people around, and guilt. It's made him pretty tetchy.]

I prefer my drinking buddies to actually drink, but luckily for you, we're not buddies. You are a weird stranger who knows more about me than you should and who I am not biting in the neck because you said you'd answer some questions.

Well clearly you don't know me at all, because non-consensual biting is kinda what vampires do. [Okay, yeah, he hasn't really done that for awhile, not since dating Elena in earnest. But he's not about to admit to that. It's bad enough the only vampire he's met here thinks he's a wuss just because he has two brain cells to rub together. He really doesn't need any more hits to his reputation.]

Yes to both of those, but none of it made any sense. And it still does not explain why I don't remember ever being here.

Can't everyone just get along for two seconds so they can work on a way to get people home and not on in-fighting? And why are they always people she likes? What does that say about her?]

It gives possible reasons. You might not be the Damon I remember. Maybe you're just similar enough that without knowing you or your world better I can't tell the difference. Or maybe you're the same guy but they reset you to an earlier time where you don't remember as much including your time here. Or there could have been a glitch in the virtual reality system or an intentional erasing of your memories of this place.
