day 363 ☼ video / action
[The video feed opens to the sight of a somewhat (initially) embarrassed looking Kazuki. Behind him there's a large steaming pot, numerous bottles of spices, and maybe a stray piece of chopped potato or vegetable here and there.

Someone clearly spent his first day in Marina shopping around, and in general trying to settle a little into all of this. He (along with Soushi) have already found a place to live for the time being along with a few other things.]

. . . If anyone wants curry, you're welcome to come over. I ended up making more than I thought, so there's plenty to go around.

[It's more like he wasn't even thinking about the amount. It's the same as he does as one of the primary chefs at the café back home.

Cooking is definitely going to become a Thing he does a lot (even more of) to try and keep himself from thinking too hard about this whole situation. It's always been something that eases him, and what he loves to do.

Which is why he adds- ]

Or if anyone has any requests, I suppose. I've stocked up on a lot, and really wouldn't mind making other things.

[. . .] I guess, too, so I can meet everyone else who's here. My name is Kazuki Makabe. I'm in Sector 3, apartment [insert The Tier Apartment # Here]. I'll have the door open.

Ah- [A beat. Something very important, albeit an odd request: ] Just bring your own plate or bowl. I don't have a ton of those.

( action: Sector 3 apartment )

[He's just where he stated. Anyone who comes by will probably smell the food he's making as it wafts through the door and down the halls. He's also looking the part with his hair tied in a low ponytail and complete with an apron. There also is a rice cooker going, among a couple other things.

Come taste some pretty awesome curry, everyone. He's famous for it back home.]

[ooc: Feel free to use this as a mingle, or whatnot, too. ALSO, assume that Kazuki's roommate (Soushi/[info]festumborn) will be around here and there, just for the record.]

[He should look into the education center as well. Not necessarily just for the sake of learning more about their location, but also simple curiosity. There's bound to be material otherwise unavailable back home. He's never been the scholarly type at all - that's Soushi's thing - but this is a special case.]

I wonder just how many kinds of worlds are represented here. . . [a beat] I know I want to get a bike when I can.

[That should be nothing new. Maybe Soushi can get one as well?]

That's true. They've been pretty nice so far.

[Soushi was actually wondering if he could teach there. Or if perhaps it was run by robots like the hospital was. While he may not be able to teach just any subject, he could definitely teach mathematics or science. Those were probably universal.]

Who knows? The contact list is large but some of the individuals could come from the same world like we do. [He's already gone through the list and looked at all of the names. Some are Japanese and others not.]

A bike? What for? [The prison isn't exceptionally large and Kazuki was fit enough to walk it... maybe even run it if he wanted to.]

You'd know that better than I. [He hasn't talked to a single one of them yet. Merely took an interest when something was posted to the network.]

[Just a small nod to that.]

I spoke with a girl named Yuuki earlier, before I found you, and she said she's been here in the past. She's from Japan, too, but she had never heard of Tokyo, and her version has vampires. She said that there's numerous kinds of beings in this place.

[Which didn't faze him too much. If aliens from a distant universe can exist in he and Soushi's world, then other things can exist elsewhere. . .right?]

Oh. [a little sheepish.] I've kind of wanted one since I was younger. I want to feel the wind in my face.

[Because he can only run so fast.]

You should, too. Maybe you'll make a few friends.

Hm. [A small sound of interest. It's a fact that he's filing away in his head for later.] That's interesting. Perhaps there is no Tokyo where she's from. Vampires? Really?

[It doesn't faze Soushi too much either except for it was just a story... a superstition that was only found in fiction in their world. But clearly exists in another version of their world.]

Nothing else was good enough? [They live on a island - where there was plenty of wind.]

I will, when I'm ready.

Maybe not. Yeah. They make up enough of her world that she said there's a lot of politics involved.

[He didn't pry much, though. But she also almost seemed saddened when speaking about it, so he didn't want to bother her with any of his curiosity.]

Well. . . going fast, too. It's not the same as being in a Fafner. [In part because piloting isn't about enjoyment. They can't (and shouldn't) be compared.]

Of course.
