Day 363 | Video & Action
[The video feed comes to life, showing the face of a 16-year-old girl with unruly red hair. Her eyes are open and curious but also seem to burn with a certain kind of determination. Her hair sways slightly as she takes one step after the other taking in her surroundings, which appear to be rather close to the movie theatre in Sector 4. Walking the streets, she can’t help but touch some of the brick buildings with wonder in her eyes.]

These buildings are so different from what we have at home. I am sure Kija would much prefer to sleep in one of them. [She smiles fondly, then – as if remembering the video she started recording -starts to speak straight at the viewer.]

My name is Yona and I just woke up over there. [She points towards the movie theatre.] If this works like the message I saw, someone should hear me, so … if anyone has seen someone named Hak or Kija, Jaeha, Shin-Ah, Zeno or Yoon, please tell me.

[Her voice and demeanour change slightly, as she carries on. The determination stays intact but the strong feelings she harbours for her companions seem to fill her words and gaze. It’s nearly as if she wants to ease their minds a lot more than her own. She has something to work hard for and won’t stop until she achieved it; something about her leaves no doubt about that being true.]

If any of you hear this, please answer if you can. I am fine, so don’t worry about me. I will do my best to find all of you. Just wait for me.

[With a smile from Yona, the video message ends.]

Hello! [So, sending out a message worked, despite Yona not really being sure what she's doing. That's a relief. That means the others might be able to hear her as well.]

You have? Where is he? [Considering the state she saw him in the last time she remembers, she has a lot of questions that could follow this one. But the details are something she needs to discuss with Zeno himself. Just one more thing ...] Is he fine?

Zeno usually eats a lot because Yoon's cooking is so good, but ... threatening to not eat anything doesn't sound like Zeno. Did he otherwise look alright? [It is worrying to hear but the things Yona witnessed back home concerning him just before she came here worry her even more. Maybe she should try and find Zeno as quickly as she can, just to make sure.]

You saw him in a park, you say, in Sector Four ... [Yona looks at the map as she still talks to Euphie, trying to determine how to best get there.] Was he with someone else? Maybe a tall black haired man or someone else?

	I didn't see anyone else, but it's possible. And I'm not sure what he's supposed to look like, but he seemed okay to me. I mentioned everything here was free and he seemed to take it as a sign that it was in trade for our freedom, but I don't think that's it at all. I think they've taken that regardless. [If he seemed okay to her that sounds like it's more than a little unlikely for him to still be as injured as when she last saw him. That would hardly go unnoticed, even from a distance. Yona lets out a breath she didn't realize she had been holding.] Okay. That is good.

How long have you been here for, if I may ask?

[While she keeps talking to Euphie she tries to navigate the streets as well as she possibly can, trying to get from where she is to Quatro Park.]

[Yona blinks, not really understanding why the girl would backpedal like this suddenly.]

They are my friends, that's why. All of us travel together. [Yona smiles warmly. No talk of dragons or anything. It's not really necessary since this is the truth as well and she surely doesn't want to spook her any more than she already has.] You can ask me anything you like, don't worry.

[Which reminds her.] What is your name?

I know he will. [He'd never leave someone alone, much less her. He always came back, every day, after working hard.

...Friends. This girl is his friend? But if he had someone who would be fond enough of him to search far and wide for him, then why was he alone and sad when she met him? Why did he stay instead of going back to his travels with these people? Why did he want to die, that first day?]

I didn't know he had friends... He never told me, but if that's the case, I'm glad he does. [And she is. She's happy for him, even though she's feeling this pang. Whether it's envy or loneliness, she's not sure, but she'll ignore this feeling since it's much better for him to have someone. She shouldn't have kept him apart, in a hut, with just her.] He deserves many friends!

We haven't been with him for long. One day he appeared in front of us and started eating the food Yoon prepared. There are eight of us, including Zeno and me, usually, so I think he has them. [Yona smiles brightly, remembering it as if it had been yesterday. But then she notices the look on Kaya's face and becomes concerned.] Are you okay?

Kaya. That's a pretty name. It's really nice to meet you. [It sounds like there is more to it, like Kaya hasn't just met Zeno here, but Yona doesn't want to pry.]

[C-cute?! She's just normal! It's Yona who's the cute one, and she could say she didn't know he had a pretty friend either. Or any friend at all. And it's obvious he never told them about her, and all that makes her head swirl a bit.]

W-well, we couldn't have a real ceremony, but he proposed and we called each other such for as long as I... Um, so I guess that makes me his wife.

Yes, they look completely different! They aren't made from ... small separate parts like this. And the roofs are all different. [She isn't exactly the best at describing it.] I am sure Yoon could explain how the houses at home are constructed but ... [... he doesn't seem to be here. Yona can't really bring herself to say the words. It would make them more real.]

Thank you for telling me. [She smiles, as if this really helped. It's not enough to sway her optimism, that's for sure.]

What is different for you? [Apart from the obvious like being under sea. Then again, who knows what his home is like, though Yona can't really imagine it.]

Yoon is about my height with light brown hair, while Zeno's hair is blonde and long. The others are all tall. Hak's hair is dark and short, while Jae-ha's is green and long. Kija has silver hair and Shin-Ah's is blue. [All of them surely stand out, but that's most of the information Yona can give, since she has no idea whether they would have kept any of their trademark items or if they have been taken from them like everyone's clothes.]

I'd like to say it's peaceful, here- [not that that can't entirely be said about home. It's more like a lull, though. There still could be another attack at any given point. By no means has everyone simply relaxed.]

-but I feel that's just on the surface. I guess another difference is how there seem to be various cultures represented. Same goes for the other people who are here.

[He just blinks with that description. Green and blue hair?? though even her own hair color is a more brilliant shade he's ever seen on a person.

He's a bit amused.]

That definitely does make it easy. I'll be sure to let you know should I ever come across them.

Peaceful? Is your country currently at war? [It's not like Yona means to pry, but it sounds very much like that is the case.]

You mean that something could happen anytime? [Nobody mentioned anything of the sort to Yona so far, but then again she mostly only talked to people who have newly come here as well, just as they only discussed topics other than that. It isn't out of the question for danger to be lurking somewhere.]

They do stand out, yes. Thank you, Kazuki. It's nice to meet you as well. [She smiles despite the circumstances.]

It is. The past two years have been a little better, but there's still the risk. We always need to be prepared.

[Their mass exodus back then had been a success, but not without the loss of nearly twenty thousand lives, some of whom were precious friends and family.]

. . .Yeah. I do feel like that when it comes to this place, too. I've heard there are many capable people here. If we work together then maybe there will be some progress.

[Never minding what he heard from Yuuki about there having been internal strife. He really doesn't like the idea of it.

His expression softens a slight bit, although sad, in a way. Not that he would ever wish this situation upon anyone. ~~He just doesn't know his best friend actually is here.~~]

Yeah, it's just me. Unless I just haven't found anyone yet. I've really only just woke, and have spoken with just two people.

[Sure, that would help. Especially since the others most likely won't run around, declaring their names to complete strangers. Yona nods and, with a small smile of her own, replies.]

Hak is tall and has black hair. Yoon is about as tall as I am and has light brown hair. Uhm ... the others are also tall and ... Shin-Ah has really short blue hair. He usually wears a white mask with horns and red markings but ... I am not sure if he still has that on him since none of us seem to wear our own clothes here. Jaeha has really long green hair and Kija's hair is silver? Kija's right hand is covered in white scales. [Which should be easy to notice. Yona tries to think of any other traits that would be really noticeable but decides to leave it at that for now.] Do you think you have seen any of them?

Kija? [Yona looks confused before she realizes why he might jump to that conclusion. The things that slip your mind when you are far too used to dragon claws and legs and eyes that can see across huge distances.] Oh, no, he is fine.

Kija ... [Now how to best explain this to someone who will never heard about how Kouka was created?] His right hand holds the power of the white dragon, a claw that possesses immense strength. It's because of the dragon's blood that was given to his ancestor a long time ago.

[To most people in Kouka even, this is nothing but a creation myth. For most of her life, it was just a story her father had read to Yona as a child as well, but now this is such an integral part of her life that she doesn't think about it as strange at all. Which doesn't mean that she can't understand an outsider deeming it unbelievable.]

The dragon's blood? It was bestowed upon four humans, back when our country Kouka came into being. They were to protect King Hiryuu, Kouka's first king, who was a dragon who had descended and become human. Hakuryuu, Seiryuu, Rokuryuu and Ouryuu. [Victor will most likely hear those titles translated as White, Blue, Green and Yellow Dragon.] All of them have particular powers that are exclusive to them. In their current incarnation Kija is the Hakuryuu.

[Yona narrates all of this with a serious expression, that changes only when she starts to talk about the current dragons, her dearest friends.] All of them are very dear to me.

[Seeing as how Zeno was searching for Kija's communication device and Yona's come in search of him it was only a matter of time before they crossed paths. Which is actually Zeno spotting a familiar head of red hair and pouncing to wrap his arms around her neck.]

Miss is here! Hakuryuu will be happy to see you, then worried if Miss is hurt, then angry at the people who brought Miss here and then protective because so far it's only been Zeno, Hakuryuu and Kaya and now Miss so Hakuryuu has to protect Miss for the sake of everyone not here!

[In that exact order too. Or at least that's what he predicts. Also, yes. He did just actually use someone's name (someone she just met over the devices) rather than using a nickname.

As for her own worry, Zeno doesn't look hurt at all - no bloodstains on his orange jumpsuit either to indicate that he was still hurt.]

Zeno, there you are! [Yona returns the hug, smiling brightly, very much relieved to see his face. There is no blood on him, no sign that he was in a fight lately or injured, which makes her breathe at ease, even if it doesn't make sense to her.] So, Kija is here as well.

I already spoke to Kaya, too. I hope I ... didn't tell her anything I shouldn't have. [She looked so crestfallen when Yona mentioned being friends with Zeno, it still made her feel bad.]
