[ audio - locked to Gon ]

[ Haruka has been promising Gon to show him her cool hobby for quite some time now. And it's finally a day ending in 1 or 4 again. So: ]

I'm ready. Come out to Sector 4.

[ action - open ]

[ That's right, it's time for driving class! Haruka has dirt bikes ready for anyone who wants one, as well as a lone motocross bike she'd found in the bike shop. The engine isn't great, though. It won't take her much faster than her motor scooter, which is parked off to one side.

There's a lot of puddles on the streets and in the parks today. What better time for a lesson on hydroplaning...?

She's putting one of the dirt bikes through its paces on a grassy spot, both wheels leaving the ground on occasion as she jumps puddles. The bike is splattered. The bottom of her riding jumpsuit is splattered.

But when she takes her helmet off and shakes out her bangs, her skin and hair are still impeccable. ]

Yeah... [Way to dodge his question there. But that was true...even though he was more curious about Haruka's progress with it her first go around...oh well. Worse case; if Gon didn't get the hang of it; he would keep trying and trying until he did. His stubbornness always won that battle.

But that might not be necessary with Haruka as a teacher.]

Alright. [He takes a breath, settling down a bit as he tries to follow her instruction and tries to put both his feet up again and balance.]

[Gon perks at the distance; instantly noticing she isn't doing anything to help him keep the balance there...and just grinnnns!

Surprising enough he doesn't end up tipping over either. Just sitting there in place looking pretty pleased.]

Repulsor lifts. Hover technology. I'm a good pilot, but wheels aren't something I have much experience with.

[ hover bikes? x-wings? y-wings? the falcon? yes, she can pilot any of those things just fine. something with wheels, though, looks oddly less stable than something that hovers inches above the ground or goes shooting through space at light- and sublight- speeds. ]

Depends on what you're flying. There are limitations on some speeders. It'll keep you gliding above the ground, but you can't, for example, go sailing right over a massive canyon. The coils aren't designed for that kind of gravitational resistance. You'd plummet to the bottom of it as quickly as something with wheels would.

[ she takes a moment to twist and pin her braids at the base of her skull, the plucks the first helmet from the line and secures it on her head. the bike is selected in a similar manner: first in line. the colors don't match or compliment one another in the least, but the princess doesn't seem to care. mix and match equipment was just another day in the rebel office for her. ]
