[ It's shameful how long it's taken to get to this point. Things happen, he guesses, things that postpone something that should've always had top priority. All the more reason to quicken his steps, out to the store and then back to the apartment complex, knocking on a different door than the one he exited earlier that morning. Why don't they live together? He doesn't know. Doesn't care much, velvet box held tightly in his clenched fist.

With your blessing... [ Or curse or whatever this is. He's looking forward to tearing Sam a new one. Can't have people go stabbing him all willy nilly without proper retaliation, after all.

Also, as nice as it is to be kissed on all these tender bruises, there are better places for it. Like his mouth. Maybe next time he should try and get punched in the mouth more. ]

[He can take a kissing related hint. After everything that's happened today he thinks they could both use it. And deep down maybe he doesn't want Sam to get too hurt. Maybe he'll be calmer and able to process his feelings a little better in the morning.]

Lets get some sleep. We can spend all day tomorrow planning revenge while I tell you how brave you are for confronting him and that sort of thing.
