[ zuko's been here for over an hour and he hasn't seen one familiar face – or landmark. what started out as fading back into the crowds that flanked either side of the street in the busiest section of ember island's shopping district after spotting a cluster of soldiers had quickly turned into something else entirely. the people were different, the stores were different, and he was surrounded by water, like he was standing at the bottom of a lake, encased in the relative safety of a waterbender's air bubble.

it was near the library that the treasonous prince finally removed the hood of his cloak, realizing that it didn't matter whether someone saw the scar on his face or not, because scar or no scar, nobody was going to recognize him. wherever he was, it wasn't anywhere near ember island or the fire nation, and he had no idea how he even got here. that bothered him more than anything else. ]

Excuse me. [ he stepped out in front of the next lucky person to pass by the sidewalk leading up to the library's steps. ] What city is this?

	[ that does not paint a pretty picture in his head. he's sat in on the war meetings, looked through scrolls his eyes weren't meant to see, been in the bowels of the boiling rock. he knew what his country was capable of when it came to experiments. he didn't want to think about what this place could be capable of. ] That isn't very comforting.
