DAY 283 | FOURTH WALL | ACTION;
[ zuko's been here for over an hour and he hasn't seen one familiar face – or landmark. what started out as fading back into the crowds that flanked either side of the street in the busiest section of ember island's shopping district after spotting a cluster of soldiers had quickly turned into something else entirely. the people were different, the stores were different, and he was surrounded by water, like he was standing at the bottom of a lake, encased in the relative safety of a waterbender's air bubble.

it was near the library that the treasonous prince finally removed the hood of his cloak, realizing that it didn't matter whether someone saw the scar on his face or not, because scar or no scar, nobody was going to recognize him. wherever he was, it wasn't anywhere near ember island or the fire nation, and he had no idea how he even got here. that bothered him more than anything else. ]

Excuse me. [ he stepped out in front of the next lucky person to pass by the sidewalk leading up to the library's steps. ] What city is this?

Then again, learning that your green-skinned martian friend looked considerably...different...than the form she had come to know was slightly different than what seemed like awful burn marks over someone's eye.]

Well, for what it's worth, I can vouch for pretty much all of it. Unfortunately.

The only silver lining is that "life sentence" doesn't always mean you're stuck here for life. I've seen a lot of people come and go over the last few months.

	People keep saying that this is a prison. I've been to a high security prison, and this doesn't exactly resemble the usual picture of one. Wardens aren't normally concerned with your comfort or well being. [ mai's uncle sure as hell didn't give much of a damn about the prisoners at the boiling rock. ] (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Oh, that part, you'll be happy to know is true here, too. [There may or may not have been a sarcastic roll of the eyes accompanying that statement.] They don't care about out well-being here, either. I once got attacked, and they punished me for nearly a week just for ending up in the hospital. (Reply to this) (Parent)
