[ She was too late. Rose only realised what had happened to him when Spike came back to their apartment in a terrible state, so completely unlike himself. While Rose had felt guilty about the people she hurt in her rampage, the guilt would be tenfold for Spike, maybe even much more than that. She's worried because he hasn't eaten but he seemed to show no interest in it so Rose let it be for the time being.
Rose hears footsteps coming from behind her, turning to see Spike approaching her. The communicator is still connected but she ignores it in favour of speaking with him. ]
I'm trying to. [ It hurts, seeing Spike like this. ] I doubt that they will actually listen or even give a damn, but I had to make my voice heard.
[ She wants to gather him into her arms but Rose doesn't know if he wants her to. ]
