[Between the rapidly swelling bruises on his face and the leaves stuck in his hair Phanan has the distinct look of a man who has just gotten into a fist fight with a vampire. Most unusual is his right hand; the plastic casing that houses the circuitry is chiped and the synthetic skin near his wrist is torn as if someone inadvertently bit it, which is exactly what happened. The fingers are twitching and spasming wildly, moving in a way that that is distinctly inhuman as the artificial skin crawls across them sickeningly. He's got some pliers and wire spread out on the table before him and he begins making repairs on it while he speaks. First he pops the casing open the removes the powerpack. Rather than going limp the hand freezes, looking very much like a machine that has had its power cut, which of course it is. Once it's powered off he starts rummaging around in it with the pliers, striping the wire and replacing it. It's all done a little awkwardly since he's using his left hand but he seems to know what he's doing.]

So just as a general warning vampire attacks are happening. So code whatever color we use for that one. Purple, maybe? Code purple? We should have more codes. Anyway as far as avoidance maneuvers go I recommend climbing trees. [Which explains the leaves in his hair. He fumbles a little awkwardly since he's using his left hand here and the video switches so that now it is...]

She takes a moment to react to him being hurt before actually responding. It's not the first time she's seen a friend hurt. Hell, she's seen plenty killed. Life moves on. It has to. She'll just pretend it's that easy.

This is bad, but unsurprising news. Something needs to be done fast. That is, assuming it was who she thinks it was.] Spike, right? Bad dye job? English accent?

[Its not the first time he's been hurt; the prosthetics are proof enough of that. The hand looks worse than it is and the bumps and bruises will heal soon enough. He actually grins at her, a reassuring, cocky sort of smirk that says, hey I punched a vampire today!]

That's the one. I'm assuming I was a random target since he's got no reason to go after me personally. Makes me think there might be more victims out there, and based on how surprised he was the I fought back I'm guessing my reaction was sort of an exception.

[Its not related to vampire at all but over the course of the conversation she may notice the new blue band on his organic wrist. He is already mentally preparing himself for this conversation.]

There have been in the past. I'm not sure sure if he paces himself or goes in sprees. [Phrases like "cooling off period" come to mind from Criminology class but how much can be applied to vampires? She eats three times a day, sometimes more.]

Reporting it makes you kind of an exception too. People around here like to stay quiet so more people can be victims. I guess misery loves company.

[She's been looking him over so odds are she's taken in the band, but it hasn't registered yet. Other things on her mind coming first.]

How bad is it?

I'm getting the feeling spree might be pretty accurate for this one. He swooped off pretty quickly after I climbed that tree. People not reporting things like this is probably the reason we have vampires running around in the first place.

[He glances up from tinkering with his wrist.] Not bad. I can get this fixed pretty quickly and there's no serious damage to my remaining organic parts. I'm an amazingly talented doctor, so I can tell.

	He was here once before. He wasn't exactly captain of the welcoming committee, but he seemed like a good enough guy. He helped people when we had some structural damage. Buffy seemed to trust him. 	We don't have many guns, and from what I've been told they wouldn't be that effective, but point taken. [Killing him versus saving him.] We're working on a plan to stuff his soul back inside him. [She's the leader. She's the one who should have an answer to this question here and now, but right now she's feeling less charitable in her response than she was a few days ago. Stakes are sounding better than far-fetched hopes of giving him back his soul and seeing if he really was worth saving. So the hesitation in answering is clear.]

There's a possibility we can make him want to stop if we can get his soul back and restore it. The only problem is we don't know the spell that does that.

[ elena knows a thing or two about vampires like spike, and about angel's soul. a stake to the heart is an option, but not one she suggests either, although it occurs to her. she nods. ] Maybe we could request it. Angel got his somehow. Maybe Zatanna... [ although it's clear by how she trails off and her throat closes off that suggesting her little sis isn't something preferable.

she pulls in a breath and lets it out ] Someone should go out. Find him. Make sure he's not hurting anyone else.

I've talked to Conscienti. I don't have enough points on my own to request it. Not sure how far away I am, but it's possible to get it. They won't install it without his permission. Angel got his with a gypsy curse. I'm hoping witches can substitute.

[But her point is well taken. It's the here and now they have to deal with. Not just the plan.] I'm going to consult with Jack about what we're doing now though. [She has some thoughts. She's sure Jack does too.]

[ installing it without his permission would have been an option elena would consider, however morally uncertain she is about it. she'd still consider it, somehow, maybe through tricking him. it's wrong; it's clearly wrong, but if he's hurting people then what other option is there? despite how it sits uneasily in her gut?

she nods. ] Let me know if there's anything I can do.

And Kitty, I... [ not saying something about what she is, what she can do seems irresponsible, more than before, with people actually in danger. aaaand she chickens out. ] I know I'm not much, but I've dealt with vampires before. If it comes down to fighting one, I can help. I've been trained.
