Rowan groaned in pain, having been forcefully woken up by hitting the ground. That was a first for him. He had a queen sized bed, how did he end up on the ground? Pushing himself up to a sitting position, he looked around. Oh, that's why he was on the ground. Who's bright idea was it for him to sleep on a park bench? Wait, why was he in a park, and not at home? Did he have one too many drinks and just passed out somewhere? Oh this was making his head hurt...

And then the welcome message. He managed to get through the opening statements, but when the list of his supposed crimes came up, he was done. So done. He pulled the communicator off of his face, then sat there staring at the strange device, contemplating everything and muttering to himself.

"Crazy technology, overalls ripped off from every prison show ever, waking up in the middle of a park with no knowledge of how I got here... Clearly, either someone is really good at coming up with elaborate pranks, or I've gone crazy."

	"Sorry... don't think that's gonna happen. There's a rumor that they replace you with a clone back home, so your folks wouldn't even notice that you're gone, but... who knows. He was silent for a bit, processing that little piece of information. That he would miss his family, his mom and step-dad and precious little brother... and they wouldn't miss him? That was really painful to think about.

So he shoved those thoughts to the back of his head, and pretended he was okay with it. There was only a very slight hint that his smile and cheer were forced when he finally spoke again.

"Well then, I'll just have to trust this supposed clone of mine to keep Tori from doing stupid things with his life. So how long have you been here, anyways, that you know so much about this place?"

It's really not fair at all and in Aidan's case, there's a good amount of mixed emotions in there too. On one hand he's worried that his clone won't take care of his parents the way they deserve — only child after all, set to take over the family farm once he's done adventuring through his youth — and on the other he's... relieved. They deserve a better son. Someone who won't let them down the way he has.

"*Bout four months now... we used t' be in another prison. Two, actually... one of 'em was a temporary thing while they repaired this one from th' sea monster attack."

With the casual tone of a Marina veteran.

	"Whoa, sea monsters? Like giant squid and Loch Ness Monster type sea monsters?" He wasn't sure how he felt about being in an underwater prison if there was a chance they could all drown because it was attacked by sea monsters. He shuddered a little himself, partly in sympathetic fear at the thought of the dome breaking and all that water flooding in and everyone drowning, but also partly in excitement at the thought of the inevitable release of tension after a major event like that. His tension relief of choice? Probably pretty obvious at this point. A small, self-satisfied smirk slipped onto his face as he was lost in his own thoughts for a while.

	That was definitely enough to startle him out of his thoughts. "Hentai. You know, Asian animated porn? Commonly features tentacle monsters molesting poor, innocent little school girls and/or boys?" He hopes. Who can tell, really, what with the kind of life that awaits them back home. Definitely not a thought he wants to linger on right now so instead he digs out his wallet that he only carries for... well, this specific purpose.

"My brain wasn't designed for such deep conversation, it's starting to fizzle out. Can we just skip to the part where I ask you to sleep with me even though you have a boyfriend, you say thanks but no thanks for the same reason, and then we never speak of this again?"

Whoa. Whoa whoa that is really forward and he's not really used to forward and what do you even say? No, of course. That's what you say because he does have a boyfriend. A boyfriend that hasn't been here for three weeks and that's... that's tough for a young man in his sexual prime.

He swallows, awkwardly patting Rowan on the shoulder.

	Yup, that's what he thought. So straightened up, shrugging off Aidan's hand. "Right, of course, because instant attraction isn't a thing. Sorry, I'll try to keep things like that to myself from now on." Well, that would've been a quick and easy end of it if he wasn't so damn keen on keeping people happy. Should really let this go, but then he wouldn't be Aidan so... here we are.

"Hey, hey... c'mon. You don't have to do that." Awkwardly combing the hand back through his hair now that it can't do awkward shoulder pats anymore.
