Good morning. I know it's a bit early, but better to get a good start on one's day than not. For those who don't already know me, my name is Doctor Helen Magnus and I help run the clinic in Sector 3. We're here to help all your bumps and bruises if you ever need it.

I also wanted to extend an offer I've only recently decided to uphold. Some of you may recall my question on linguistics some time ago. Recently, I've been convinced to begin a study on Earth languages, specifically those known by the 21st century. I have a wide variety of languages available, so if you're at all interested, please do drop by the educational building, classroom 6 at 6pm on days ending in 2, 4, or 6. I would be more than happy to share what I know. If you have a specific language you would like to study, but aren't certain I know it, ask. I may surprise you.

[ It's just as she's leaving the clinic that Jean-Luc runs into her. It's on purpose, of course. He had been looking for her from the moment he had realized what was happening today. He had been through another day when these certain bots had been about. And the joke of it all was lost on him.

He was intent on getting Helen indoors and hidden away. Why he was so concerned about it was beyond him. All he knew was that he wasn't the least bit amused by the bots and their pointless shenanigans. ]

Helen. [ He takes her hand and pulls her into an alleyway between the clinic and another building. ] Might I suggest you come with me to my apartment? Or perhaps your apartment. There are... robots about that force people into things against their will.

[ she'd been fortunate enough to miss anyone as she was making her way up to the clinic and it's a bit of a surprise to see him here now. not a bad surprise by any means, but certainly unexpected. however, after their outing a few days ago, she feels an even stronger connection to him. her face lights up at the sight of him, though her expression turns to one of concern as he pulls her away. she's oblivious to what's going on today. ]

Either one will do. [ it just depends on whether or not he feels like dealing with the potential for other people walking in on them. her apartment has no one but herself. but of course, before that, she'll want clarification. ] I'm afraid I don't quite follow. What sort of things and why?

[ He only realizes the vagueness of his explanation when she questions it. And perhaps he had been vague for a reason. It wasn't that he didn't want to kiss her. It was that he didn't want to be forced into it. And even more than that, he didn't want anyone else to be forced into kissing her. He just wasn't prepared for that sort of visual just yet. ]

They... form an invisible force field around two persons and push them together. And the only way to break said force field is to... kiss. [ That's about as technical as he could get. ] It's nonsense, really.

Ah.

[ suddenly it becomes clear to her, or at least she thinks she might have an idea of it, and the realization relaxes her, giving her a measure of relief that the answer wasn't something worse. it's almost amusing in its own way. if she thought he were the type, she might accuse him of being jealous of her. honestly, she couldn't blame him. she might feel the same if she saw him with someone else, even if it were against his will. ~~spoilers: she would.~~ best to avoid that if possible.

she gives his hand a squeeze as a small smile crosses her face. ] In that case, perhaps you wouldn't mind if we spent this day together as well? [ she doesn't really care where they go. if he would feel better in one apartment or the other, that's fine with her. as long as they can remain together, she doesn't see either of them having a problem with the situation. ]

[ eric had spoken to her about someone who might need help and she'd brainstormed ideas to do that, but he hadn't told her the girl's name and she hadn't asked. in an effort to help reassure her that whatever she wants to divulge is up to her, helen tries to be as vague and yet understanding as she can be. her voice is calm and gentle, almost motherly in tone. ]

He has spoken to me about someone who could use help. If you'd like to stop by today, I would be more than happy to discuss this further.

[ it's mostly so klara doesn't have to worry about people hacking or overhearing. if they're in a back room of the clinic, it'll just be the two of them and then the girl can say as much or as little as she wants. ]

I've no idea what he's told you about me and what I told him, but I want you to know that I have experience helping others in a similar manner. Your comfort and safety are of the utmost importance to me. Only when you're ready should you come see me.
