DAY 253 — Morning Greeting
Rise and shine or look grumpy as usual. Whatever suits you I suppose.

Today we are celebrating Day 253 of the first generation. We'll commemorate the day with nothing in particular. Please try to contain your excitement. If you find yourselves in need of entertainment, I will remind you of our many parks, the arcade, bowling alley, movie theatre, horse stables, spa, and hot springs. Just consult your maps.

(OOC: Kiosk requests will be handled by Veridical unless otherwise requested! Mail submissions go here)

[ Data doesn't consistently opt to utilize his dream program while in MarinaNova - he hadn't last night, so he neither rises nor shines. But he is up and about plenty early, and approaches the kiosk soon after "daylight" hits. ]

Greetings.

If possible, I wish to inquire as to the whereabouts of an inmate.

[ He thinks he already knows, but so soon after losing Seven - he's certainly going to ask. ]

Inquire away.

Geordi LaForge; has he been... lost?

[ The hesitation is slight, but it's there; the last word a shade more delicate than the rest. ]

Inmate Geordi LaForge is currently lost in the dimensional stabilizer.

Put differently, yes.

I see.

[ There is an emotional reaction, but he manages to restrain the outward evidence of that to his lips flattening to a taut, thin line. His eyes close as he nods. ]

And is the understanding that neither you nor Conscienti have control over the loss of inmates within the dimensional stabilizer still accurate?

[ For as much as he trusts an answer from them. ]

We are attempting to return those lost to the facility.

[Kind of a yes there too.]

Then there are efforts being made to correct for the malfunctions?

[ He seriously doubts this will get him anywhere, but he can't possibly not inquire. Ever. ]

May I inquire as to what manner of technology is being utilized in the stabilizer? It is possible that a number of the inmates may be able to provide assistance with such efforts.

There are, and it is not possible. Even if you were capable of such corrections, you would not be cleared to make them.

Mm. [ He gives a small nod. That's basically what he expected, but you can't blame an android for trying. ]

I understand. However, should success in such efforts continue to prove elusive, considering such an option may be mutually beneficial. Assuming, of course, that you are in fact interested in retaining your inmate population.

We can always bring in new inmates id we're concerned about numbers. You should be aware of that much.

And I am. It is a most unusual approach, however, for a facility which touts a focus on rehabilitation to be primarily concerned with the number of inmates as opposed to keeping those individuals who have been found to be in need of imprisonment and, as such, stated rehabilitation.

It is not our primary concern. I was only providing a possible solution to the problem you suggested. We are working on the issue.

Understood.

[ And he nods, adding somewhat coolly; ]

Thank you for your time.
