[ Charlotte is looking slightly worse for wear this fine day, part of her head covered in a bandage and eyes lacking the luster of a good nights sleep. She's contemplative, idly picking at the remnants of a pie on her plate (pear and gruyere, what else?). ]

You know, I was thinking... this is the first time I live on my own. I went from living with my dad to living with my aunts and then Ned. I've never really been on my own like this before... and that was fine, until yesterday. Not that yesterday was as bad as it could've been of course, but it still brings you pause.

How many of us live alone here? It seems like it'd be nice to have a roommate, someone who'll notice if you get eaten by a dinosaur or disappear or... you know. Lots of stuff could happen.

Kind people commit crimes all the time, although usually those in charge of passing judgment take care to consider the circumstances more than the wardens here seem to. They are rather strict about it, but people aren't machines, so I wonder if they can think of things from the perspectives of those they insist are such criminals.

That's a good point. I never thought about it like that, but it makes a lot of sense... you think they're just trying to be human but don't have the necessary brain stuff for it? With the way they talk, you'd think they want to sound like us.

At least the sassy one. The other sounds more like a robot.

I'm not rightfully certain myself. We don't have machines like them in my world and for us...well if you can think and communicate, you are human. I'm not even sure how to classify them! [Classifying intelligent life is important.] But if they aren't truly thinking and are only acting how they assume humans would act, perhaps they just need a better teacher.

So... how would we do that? Teach them, I mean.

Hm. [That is a very good question and Toul isn't sure how to answer it herself.]

If we had a metal mage here, I'd say let them be with the wardens for a bit to see if they could get through to them, but I don't know anyone like that here. Do we have anyone in the prison who is very good at machinery?

I don't know... I've only been here a couple of weeks. You seem to know something about dealing with robots tho, so maybe ask around?

The school even has an advanced technology class, I'm sure there's someone.
