[ It's not the darkness that scares him, but the inherent absence of light. Perfectly normal, rational fear that makes it absolutely okay for his heart beat as rapidly as it is, fingers trembling from the effort to keep goddamn calm because he is past this. It's fine. Just checking in. Everything is going to be just fine. ]

Please tell me you're okay.

[ ACTION — OPEN ]

[ FBI agents aren't ones to sit at home and cower and soon as Reid has made sure that the people he cares about are safe and well, he makes a valiant effort to at least get himself to the Defence Force HQ where he can at least be of use. Armed with nothing but a flashlight and the reflexes of a life-long bully victim he braves the dark and the raptors, keeping close to the buildings so he can slip inside should the bloody reptiles come too close.

Of course, that won't help much if he finds himself in a fear zone... ]

No, it's fine.

[It's just good to know. She wishes that they were a little easier to come by here, though. Still, the cat leads the way.]

I think that the buildings are able to keep the raptors out, but do you think it would be safer for people on the floating island?

[It was a thought she had, although she didn't know how realistic it was. She could bring people up there, but they might be safer just staying indoors.]

Do you know what the raptors have suddenly appeared at all?

[ He probably should've thought about getting a weapon a lot sooner, but the longer you spend in a place like Marina the more comfortable you become and little by little you forget how dangerous it can be. When you don't have serial killers up in your face on a daily basis, you slip. Grow careless.

That needs to change. Soon. ]

With how dark it is? I think that would be asking for trouble. [ Though certainly an option if doors won't help. ] I'm not sure... I mean, I'd have to know more about the situation before I can give an educated guess, but something had to let them free from Sector 6... wouldn't it?

[That has to be it. But it's a huge concern.]

From our side though, or their own side...

You think someone on our side let them out?

I don't know.

[Her brows knit on her end.]

I hope not, but-- it wouldn't be the first time an inmate has caused trouble before, right? Even my uncle had been happy to create chaos.

No, it wouldn't be the first time. [ But for what purpose? He can think of a few and all of them makes him all the more eager to get back to HQ. ] Then... do you think they were the ones that caused the blackout as well?

Maybe? Do we know any trouble makers with that kind of ability?

...I can think of one. [ Tyki. He'd be capable, wouldn't he? Touching anything. But... ] I don't think he has the motive for it.

Of course, there could be others here that we don't know that much about.

[They're nearing the safety of headquarters, still, she stays alert through the eyes of the cat.]

That's the problem with this place. So many unique individuals which isn't bad, but if you get a few rotten eggs it's no good.

I guess that's only to be expected... even with such a small population.

I just mean- it was your job at home to look for people who would cause trouble, right?

Ah... right. Yeah, I suppose so. It's different here though... I mean, with all the different backgrounds and powers, the knowledge I have from back home isn't always so easy to apply.

Maybe not in all instances. But I wonder how differently people truly think from one another.

[She doesn't feel that she thinks differently from when she was human. At least- aside from the fact that she does crave blood. But she wont lash out at people for it.]

Actually... that depends a lot on past experiences and in what context we're talking about... [ He could talk about this for months, really. Psychology. Now doesn't feel like the right time though and the fact that he isn't rambling away about the Milgram obedience study and the latest statistics on group thinking shows well enough how uneasy he is with the situation.

Dark and raptors. Hurray. ]

I'll take your word for it.

[Lucky enough, they're arriving now, and she doesn't notice any raptors in the nearby area. The cat turns around to place it's paws upon his leg, signaling that it's safe for him to proceed forward. She won't be leaving until he's made it inside.]

Are you going to be all right on your own in there?

[Others might already be inside, but unless she goes in as well, she doesn't know.]

[ He contemplates crouching down to scratch the cat behind the ear, but there's so much speaking against that idea. The situation. Not knowing whether she'd appreciate the gesture. The fact that he's not really that fond of animals. ]

Yeah, I'll be just fine... thank you.

Please don't hesitate to ask for help if you need it, okay?

[The cat turns around and walks away. It suddenly changes turning into wisps, before it's merely a butterfly once more. It flutters off quickly in another direction.]
