[ In the dome in the morning ]

[ Jean-Luc, normally a very vibrant individual, normally a man with a mission and a purpose, no matter what that purpose might be, is standing very still in the middle of the dome. He’s in sector zero. Near the kiosk. Studying it with intense scrutiny, too still for any normal human being. ]

Doctor Magnus, I’m afraid I find it necessary to postpone tea. Perhaps we can meet tomorrow?

[ private to Trek crew ]

Is anyone…? [ There’s a moment of hesitation here, abnormal for this Captain on a normal day. He clears his throat and seems to come into himself, more stern and self-assured. ] Report.

ooc: Part 2 of the Locutus plot. The Trek muns know that Locutus is peeking into Picard’s consciousness. But anyone else who runs into him, he won’t be acting quite like himself!

[ Something has been turned on within Picard, something decidedly not human. The affect would be something Seven would feel more than anyone else and vice versa, were he to realize it, he can feel her too. He hasn't quite put it all together yet. And he's fighting whatever it is, two mentalities jockeying for dominance. ]

Seven. Are you feeling... off? Is the prison malfunctioning?

	[ the prison's two ex-drones feeling off in any way was never a good thing, but seven was reluctant to assume it was anything borg related until she had more proof. the prison could very well be malfunctioning. the dimensional stabilizer has been known to glitch, after all. ] I am. [ It was a most logical deduction, and the fact that the both of them were more willing to accept a prison malfunction rather than anything seedier should speak volumes as well. Normally, Picard would reason himself into the truth no matter whether he liked the truth or not. Locutus awake in his mind was not allowing him to do so. ]

Perhaps it would behoove us to investigate further. The rest of the prison will be assim... -- [ Somewhere in there, Jean-Luc's voice had slipped into something a bit more detached and mechanical. He stopped short. Pausing. Then continues in his own voice again. ] They could be affected as well.

Agreed, but you are unwell. Commander Data and I will investigate this matter further.

[ usually seven isn't so insubordinate with picard, doesn't show any of that take charge initiative that captain janeway tolerates and allows in front of him, but this is different. this is wrong, and seven will not follow the orders of a compromised captain -- especially one who is being compromised by the collective (or what remains of it within him). ]

[ that's when seven takes off to find data. the only ex-drone with the ability to assimilate in this dome is her. she still has a healthy supply of nanoprobes being produced in her blood stream, she still possesses the assimilation tubules necessary for completing that task. if she becomes compromised, if the captain-- no, locutus, is able to overcome her and shut off the parts of her that are annika and let her mindless, emotionless, individuality-less drone persona take over...

she is honestly afraid of what might happen. ]
