DAY 235 — Morning Greeting
Welcome to Day 235. Are you excited to hear who won the prison-wide raffle? No?

Oh, that must be because we didn't tell you we were doing one. Well, we did. We do hope you appreciate good surprises since Jack Harkness is getting one. Do come and hear the options for what you've won.

While this means the rest of you are losers, it doesn't mean you will stay that way. There will be other morale-promoting raffles in the future. It's also possible Jack Harkness will choose something that benefits more than just himself. Stay tuned.

In other news, criminals are doing criminal things. Full details of their punishments will be submitted directly to their communicators.

[There's a long pause, pink still flushing her cheeks. She remains quiet for a couple more seconds, before closing her eyes and nodding. She smiles faintly.]

... I'm so unused to Zero being so clear and honest about your desires.

[It's totally changed from before, hasn't it. Her cheeks darken a little more.]

I'll be honest in that I... don't know a lot about the bands. I had never considered getting one before, since... [Well, because she hadn't ever thought a situation like this would crop up. She clears her throat.]

Is it different from the old dome...?

[He was surprised, anticipating more of a defensive and flustered reaction at the discussion of upgrading the bands they were given today. Especially so soon after receiving them. Zero himself hadn't done a ton of research about them until after that night on the beach. Nor much since, but he knew the basics about them.]

Similar. But the changes from the previous facility are a little more--favorable. The bonds can be dissolved at anytime so the sterilization process is no longer permanent and reversible.

[More than one partner at a time is allowed for each person, not that he's going to offer THAT up.]

[He can read her discomfort like a book, just as he can read just about every look, expression or her body language. It's not something that's crossed her mind yet but she's not upset or defensive about it, which is a good sign. She's open to the possibility, something he wasn't initially sure she would be.]

By no means am I saying we need to do this right now--this moment. But soon. I want to ensure we don't make this mistake again when receiving a punishment is avoidable. I also want to make sure that we don't squander the time we have been given with insecurities and uncertainties because everything can change in a single instant. Leaving us with nothing. Not even the memories of a single moment to hold onto.

[To be honest, the awareness of what is to come has him feeling as if he's having everything ripped from him. That the one thing that could possibly rightfully be his-against all odds-is going to be denied him because of a simple miscommunication.]

I want everything I should have had if things hadn't gotten so mixed up. Everything I hoped and desired--I want to be able to hold it in my hands if possible.

[Without fear. Without questions. Without doubt. He wants it all.]

[It's a little sad to say the least. In the end she's no different from him, just as scared about a future that she feels so powerless over. The possibility of a future together with Zero, here, it's still like a dream.

So new. So different. But there's no less love. She's always loved him, in some form or another. And those feelings have only grown with time. Like him, she wants all of those things, too. In response she nods, eyes closing.]

No time... together with Zero is wasted. And I wont allow any of our future to be wasted, either.

[She understands]

When we're both back home, together... we can figure it out more, from there.
