Day 233 Video and Action
[Open Video]

[Mal's wearing a cowboy hat and, though he looks a bit hung over, he's also grinning. Every once in a while, there's a whicker that sounds like a horse, and a horse's mane invades the video.]

Did ya'll know we had horses here?

[Private to Bart]

Bart? Suppose I should thank you fer findin' me yesterday.

[That's the closest he'll get to an apology.]

[Open Action]

Mal's pretty ecstatic to find the horses. He wasn't so happy about jumping through the hoops to get the license to be allowed to ride the horses, but any annoyance fled once he saddled one up and took her out. The mare ran quickly and he almost forgot his discomfort of the water as he rode along the beach. Anyone could encounter him either on horseback or later finishing up his ride and taking care of the horse after.

[Bart doesn't like the idea, but when in Rome...!] You don't think we've got enough space here?

[It's an honest question. Bart can run in the tiniest of spaces, but he hadn't thought about it much regarding other animals.]

["No."]

Why not? It could be fun.

[Mal looks over and grins.] Right then. Follow me.

[He kicks the horse into a gallop and lets out a whoop of something akin to joy.]

[Funny, Bart's cry of surprise and possibly fear is almost akin to Mal's joy.

Which is probably a good thing, considering Bart's horse isn't going super fast. It's not the speed that bugs him so much as the (seeming) total lack of control. He follows Mal, but he's clinging to the horse the entire darn time.]

[Mal simply looks thrilled. It's not until he looks back and sees Bart holding on for dear life and looking terrified that he slows his horse down. As he slows, he leans over and reaches for the reins of Barth's horse as well.]

Woah girl!

[His voice is calm as he gets the horses to a more manageable pace.]

Sorry kid, you shoulda told me you weren't so into goin' that fast.

[He's still clinging to the horse, even though it's more than slowed down to something akin to a snail (in Bart's mind).

Glancing up at Mal, he shakes his head.]
Nuh-uh. This speed's cruise control for me - and if I don't get over my fear now, when am I ever going to?

[Mal shakes his head.]

Well cruise control, let's go at a jog then. Don't hold on with a death grip, all it does is make the horse nervous. They's prey animals, an' they can read our emotions. Stay confident. C'mon.

[He clicks his tongue and brings his own horse into a jog.]
