DAY 233 — Morning Greeting
I do hope you're tired of all your new friends, because you won't be getting any more for a few days at least. It's Day 233 and we're fresh out of sea creature attacks, dimensional stabilizer hiccups, and holidays. Maybe you can amuse yourselves by making a rubberband ball or running with scissors.

Oh, yes, or you could work on your rehabilitation. Visit one of the classes scheduled for today, consider volunteer work or starting a job at one of our establishments, or check out today's museum exhibit: fractals, math's art project.

[Mail call for new arrivals from Welcome Committee.]

(OOC: Kiosk requests will be handled by Veridical unless otherwise requested. Mail submissions can be left here.)

Spoilsport. Try being a little more effective in killing the suspense next time.

Perhaps the day will yet manage to surprise you.

Of course there's still that possibility. [He can see to that himself, kk.]

But the point. How you miss it. You don't just announce there's nothing at all to look forward to or dread in the foreseeable future. Well, unless you're planning the exact opposite of that, in which case I'll be proud. [But he doubts your trolling capacities reach that far, V.]

And here I thought you'd be too well programmed to ask questions like that. I could compose a sonnett just for you about how you'd naturally never tell a lie?

You could, but that wouldn't really be much of a problem for me.

[Hey now. Rude. He writes great sonnetts.]

Well, no, I'd hope a little poetry wouldn't turn out to be your Achilles' Heel. Not a fan?

[He finds this announcement most amusing!]

Don't be silly. It's impossible to run out of holidays!

Maybe not impossible, but it would certainly take producing them at a much more frequent rate than the one we are currently employing. Regardless, we are not hosting one today.

And that's fine! It just made me a little nervous to hear you say that we're fresh out of holidays. For a second I thought you meant forever, and that would have been terrible!

[He... exaggerated the details, Hitachiin style!? That's what he's thinking, anyway.]

I was only kidding, keeping you on your toes and all that!

Nope! There are no tears here! Only joy!

I suppose there can be tears of joy if you really want them. Tears of joy are far more pleasant than... other kinds of tears.

Can we suggest a museum exhibit of sorts? I mean if it counts towards our rehabilitation to do so.

You can always make suggestions, but it does not contribute to your points.

In that case, could I request an exhibit on different cooking methods throughout time? Another question, how does one know they have enough points to request something?

[info]ai_veridical

It may be requested, though we won't guarantee the exhibit. [After all, Lacus once requested an exhaustive number of exhibits.]

To answer you second question, one must ask.

I require some supplies for a cooking class I am going to start. Among them include a few sets of cooking knives for my students. Perhaps a dozen in total.

Do you find the cookware currently available in the stores insufficient for your needs?

(OOC: It might be if he wants to keep it consistent between students like everyone has the exact same kinds of pots and they don't need to share.)

Yes, I do. It's mismatched and there's not enough for everyone I anticipate coming to my class.

Such strong feelings on cookware.

Very well, since it is for a teaching aid the appropriate materials can be delivered to the kitchen teaching unit.

Inferior equipment can lead to injuries and an unnecessary handicap for learning. I'm sure you'd like to see inmates rehabilitate more rather than less quickly.

I would later like to have some words with you about the larger equipment, but it's my hope that it's something a thorough break-down and cleaning will be able to remedy.
