[ Rose has been spending a lot of time in the education center doing research since the Doctor left again. After a morning holed up with books and computers, papers and theories, she heads out toward Bean Crushers for a cup of tea. She spends some time there looking over her notes and sipping her tea.

Her next stop is TvÄ Park. She spends some time wandering through the hedge maze and stops in the butterfly pavillion.

It's a typical day for her and it makes her realize, she's really got to get a job of some sort. Too much free time in one place is driving her a bit mad. ]

[ The education center is where Jean-Luc runs into Rose. He spends most of his time either there or the library, after all. He stops to say hello. ]

Ms. Tyler. A pleasure to see you again.

[ They've that in common at least. She looks up from her work when Picard stops and smiles at him. ]

I think we agreed you'd call me Rose and I'd call you Jean-luc. [ she says it teasingly though.]

Of course, you're correct. We did. Rose. [ Although she still might have to remind him a few times. His default is always to settle into formalities. ]

Expanding your scholastic horizons?

[ She suspects as much. She doesn't mind. She furrows her brow looking down at the books and notes she's taking. ]

Sorta. I'm tryin' to figure out how to apply what I learned back home about dimension jumpin' here.

[ He nods. ] An interesting study. Do you think you've the technology necessary here to accomplish a dimension jump?

There is always a chance that while such an endeavor might not be entirely fruitful, that we might learn more than we had known prior to said attempt. And we will never know unless you try.

Might I be of any assistance?

I could use all the information you know 'bout parallel dimensions, time ripples, rips and...I don't know....warps. [ She grins at that, not sure that Rocky Horror Picture Show is still a thing in his world. ]

[ Rocky Picture Show? No. But he does know a few things here and there. ]

I've experienced parallel dimensions and time distortions along my way. I'm unsure of their application here but perhaps discussing them wouldn't hurt.

[ He nods, gesturing toward a table where they might sit. ]

Shall we have a seat and converse for a few moments?

Yeah. [ Rose nods and walks over to the table, taking a seat. She grabs her notebook and pen to take notes as they talk. ]

[ He settles into a chair across from her. ] I know that certain alien species are capable of time jumping. It's a certain kind of technology that Starfleet has yet to acquire to my knowledge.

Is it technology or is it in their blood? [ Because she knows part of the reason that timelords can travel has to do with their ability to see time.]

My encounters with time traveling aliens has most certainly been a form of technology, all except one. [ The Q seemed to have very few limits if any in regard to power. ] However, that is not to say that some species might have the ability to control such things from a physiological stand point.

[ Rose presses her lips together, considering this. ] If we had someone here like that, someone that'd help us, we might be able to make progress. The TARDIS is a ship, but she's a sentient ship that is able to navigate space and time. Me and UNIT took her abilities and sorta...cannibalized 'em, focused 'em, funneled 'em and used 'em. She was willin' though. Takin' the moral issue outta it, I think we'd need them to do it voluntarily.

[ Because morally, it'd have to be voluntarily as well. Rose is just pointing out that the willingness is necessary. She's fairly certain that if the TARDIS hadn't helped in her own way, guided them in the right directions, that they'd never succeeded back home.

Of course, she's leaving out that doing so had killed the TARDIS.]
