DAY 231 | VIDEO | OPEN
[The face looks human. If not for the fact it is only a face. Beyond that is wires and clear casing in the shape of a hairless human head. It even has eyebrows, but they do not move. The voice that comes with it is light and cheery, but not noticeably manufactured.]

Curious. Yes. Oh yes. Very, very curious. It is fascinating how people come together, is it not? Whether through internal choice or external force, sentient beings drawn together (linked, dare I say) are fascinating to observe. They always manage to surprise one when it is least expected, but only when their limits are pushed. It's never their first choice, oh no. One must force them to acknowledge each other and their common fates. But when it happens, oh the meeting of the minds is an invigorating experience.

[The head turns and looks down before lifting up a hand that is similarly clear with silver joints and colored wires throughout.]

But how do you all handle such physicality? Having a body is so superfluous when you can use your minds to speak to one another. This prison appears to be woefully outdated. What a pity. I am sure your wardens would have less complications if they could do away with it altogether. How are inmates to connect to one another when they are separated by these boundaries?

Oh, what poor manners I am showing. I am Sync, co-warden of Nexus Asylum. I haven't traveled to one of the other prisons before so this is a unique experience for me. I will have to collect a sufficient amount of data to take back with me.

(OOC: Say hello to the warden of a different Asylum prison! Sync is intrigued by having a body and everyone else having one, too. Please be aware this is a fourth wall character and not pertinent or related to any plot or clues related to plot in the game. Sync from an entirely different prison system in an alternate universe and just thinks that MarinaNova is part of its system.)

Does this mean you are one of the beings responsible for our incarceration here?

No, no, quite not. I apologize for your lack of attention causing you to miss my introduction. I am Sync, co-warden of Nexus Asylum. As you can clearly see, this is not Nexus Asylum and as such, I am not the one responsible for your incarceration.

[Lack of attention. Oh, so that's how this going to be.]

You've stated you're a warden in one of what is apparently a network of prisons; I don't think it's an unreasonable inference that you might be involved in an administrative sense.

I see. It was not inattention, but false assumptions are the cause of your misled questioning. The flaws of verbal discussion have led you to thinking that a warden is somehow more than a warden. I apologize, I will adjust me future responses to be more blunt.

As you are not associated with this prison, I won't trouble you with further questions about it, but I'd like to know about your own facility, if you're able to describe it for me.

I could describe it easily if words were not required, but I will try to provide adequate descriptions nonetheless.

Nexus Asylum is crossroads of minds. Those minds influence the physical representation of the prison. All inmates are connected neurally to each other, thereby providing true understanding and comprehension of each other. One does not need to speak when one can see into the thoughts of those they are conversing with. Cognitive unity liberates and facilitates rehabilitation.

Yes, boundaries. This physical world is made up of far too many of them. How do they get anything done? It is very inefficient.

To one who is accustom to their physical limitations, it is natural to see the more progressive forms of communication as "bizarre," but I assure you it is far more successful in translating one's exact intent.

Right.

So what's it like in your prison, anyway? Telepathy aside.

Another asylum? How many are there?

[Some of the Wardens had been less than forthcoming, but Tieria was hoping this one might be nicer. It seemed a bit more open and willing to chat. He might consider the option of talking about a physical existence versus a virtual one later.]

So there are that many, then. [He considered that for a moment.] Though, I was merely looking for a number, not a list of names.

Do transfers between these prisons happen often?

It would depend on what you mean by often as that is a vague term without a set number of measurement. Transfers do happen.

Physical attractiveness is not within my ability to measure based on the varying criteria of the multitude of species of which I am aware. I doubt the wardens would find more fulfillment in gaining physical forms when they are so limiting.

And for the record, I don't care about anyone else's standards of beauty. By mine, you're pretty.
