230 - [ action ] - open
[Oz is sitting at the beach in Sector One. It’s one of the first times he’s ventured out and about since that class about werewolves and how to kill them. Right now he’s sitting in the sand close to where the surf is coming in, his pants are rolled up so that the water just hits his feet and ankles before receding again. He’s leaning back on his palms, eyes closed, face turned up in spite of the overcast sky. He looks very calm, as always – very peaceful, as always. But also, as per usual, what’s on the outside doesn't always match what’s on the inside with Oz.

He’s enjoying the quiet and his solitude. But he won’t turn away anyone who might come across him.]

There was this river with this sorta floatin' dock on it not too far from my house. I usta sneak out there sometimes when it was hot and just lay on that dock and sunbathe. There was a rope too. We'd swing out on it and drop down into the water. It weren't ever that cold 'cause Mississippi stays pretty warm mosta the year 'round.

[ Boy does he want to hold her hand right now. And he knows she's wearing gloves, which means he could. But every time he starts to feel something now, he remembers that he has Bay and Kelden back home. Maybe. If they weren't dead from the army he'd left on their doorstep. It left him with a conundrum where he didn't know where to put those emotions he was building over her. ]

[If Rogue knew about Bay and Kelden, she'd have some fairly mixed feelings over the whole thing. She's definitely got crush feelings for him. They might even be more than crush feelings, especially if she knew those feelings were reciprocated, and Oz is a married man with a child. However, in her cluelessness, she would like to hold his hand. ]

Let's see...I was standin' in a line at a clinic in New York City. They were givin' away The Cure. It suppressed mutant genes so that anybody who got it ended up just a normal human bein'. I woulda been able to touch people and kiss 'em and have any sorta normal relationship I wanted.

[While she's talking, she reaches out, slipping her gloved hand over Oz's so that they are sort of holding hands.]

I left the line. I decided I didn't want the cure. Anybody who wanted to be in a relationship with me would just have to like me the way I was. Am. It's a part of me and even if I hate that part of me, I don't wanna take it away. It's like the gap in my teeth. I wouldn't recognize myself without it.
