230 - [ action ] - open
[Oz is sitting at the beach in Sector One. It’s one of the first times he’s ventured out and about since that class about werewolves and how to kill them. Right now he’s sitting in the sand close to where the surf is coming in, his pants are rolled up so that the water just hits his feet and ankles before receding again. He’s leaning back on his palms, eyes closed, face turned up in spite of the overcast sky. He looks very calm, as always – very peaceful, as always. But also, as per usual, what’s on the outside doesn't always match what’s on the inside with Oz.

He’s enjoying the quiet and his solitude. But he won’t turn away anyone who might come across him.]

[Buffy doesn't go looking for Oz until later. She'd swung by his apartment and found it lacking. She assumed he'd finally gotten out a little and, in her opinion, that's a good thing. In any case, she eventually gets around to finding Oz at the beach. She takes her shoes off before she steps into the sand, then walks barefoot toward her friend, sitting down beside him. ]

Talk about crazy weather lately.

You deserve the good. [Because he knows better than most the hell she's been through... multiple hells. So he means it when he says she deserves it.] All is good with Sam and with family and... not family? [Meaning Spike.]

[He rolls one shoulder up, canting his head as he tries to decide how best to answer that. He's not so good right now. But...] There haven't been any silver lined pitchforks yet.

[Her thanks is murmured. There are days that Buffy thinks she's earned the good and there are days that she thinks she's earned the pain. ] Yeah...things are...Spike has been distant and that worries me a little because if Spike is quiet, he's up to something, but I've been sort of keeping an eye on him and everything seems...mostly Spike-ish. There haven't been any dead people so...bonus.

[ Yeah she knew exactly who not family was.

She nods.]

If things get pitchfork-y, you'll call me. Right? [ Because she will defend him.]

	Yeah, I will. [Maybe. He doesn't sound all that convinced about doing so. With all the time he's given himself to think lately, he's kind of starting to think that he might deserve the pitchforks, that maybe a pitchforking would be best for all concerned.] I should have been more careful about who I confided in. [Buffy hears that doubt. She didn't know that Sam knew Oz was a werewolf. She just assumed that it was a random subject the way ghosts and wendigo had been. Although now, it's all too clear. She nods a little. She's not sure what to say to Oz in response to that.]

From now on, you're gonna want to see a collar and a booth. [She's trying to joke because it's not a joking matter. ]

Has anyone been...you know. In general they seem more understanding here.

There should be club ID cards. Friendlies and not so friendlies.

[That's his joking right back at her. It might fall a little flat though.]

I don't know. I've been in hiding since the class. Low profile guy. If they were there's nowhere to run here. [And that's the clincher. Sam, who he'd thought was a friend, told everyone how to kill him knowing what he was. And all friendships aside, it would have been one thing to give that information out in the real world where he stood a chance to run and hide. In here, he had nowhere to go.]

Especially considering the little dome that we were in for a couple of days.
