[ VIDEO; LOCKED TO THE DEFENSE FORCE ]

Can I have your attention, please? I have a few announcements to make.

First of all, if you haven't already heard Derek Morgan is no longer with us. I'll be stepping in as temporary leader for the Investigative Team until a new leader can be elected — if you're interested in the position, come talk to me or Kitty.

Second, all of you who were assigned to the Investigative Team during our stay in Squall are highly encouraged to file out reports regarding our time there. Anything and everything you can think of, even the most insignificant of details can turn out to be of great use later on.

Data, it'd be great if you could come see me whenever it's convenient.

I'll be at the Defense Quarters HQ all afternoon if any of you need any help or have questions. That's all for now.

[ ACTION; OPEN TO ALL ]

[ True to his word, Reid will be at the Defense Force headquarters all afternoon, working away on his own Squall-related intel and pondering how to best report the rather startling discovery they might've stumbled upon.

Later in the evening he can be found in the education center music room, playing a rather familiar piece followed by the second movement of Beethoven No 8 sonata, Pathetique. A little slow and full of stumbles, but the boy tries. ]

I think she was mostly setting it up for general use as a way to cut down on the repetition of frequently asked questions, but I'm sure it wouldn't be much of a problem creating sections that require special access.

That would seem to be a reasonable, and wise, endeavour. It would certainly assist in efficiently familiarizing new arrivals with their situation, provided they are comfortable with using such technology.

You are correct in that employing a means of encryption to restrict access to specific sections would be a simple task. It should be possible for us to fully integrate both of these projects, and maintain a single database with varying levels of clearance.

That sounds great — you should probably check in with Kitty first to get the go-ahead, but I doubt it'd be a problem.

Can I leave this project in your capable hands, then?

I will do so.

[ And he gives a nod. ]

And I would be happy to oversee the project if desired. I will establish contact with Rebecca, as well as the rest of the Investigative team in order to obtain any additional insight they may have, and to inform any members who are unaware that they may provide me with information they wish to be stored at any point.

Thank you — you're a big help, really. I don't know what we'd do without you. [ Maybe now he can get some actual, real-people sleep. ]

Is there anything you need help with, by the way?

[ A small smile pulls at the corner of his mouth, but he furrows his brow gently along with it. ]

I am glad that I can be of assistance, though I am certain the Investigative Team performed admirably prior to my arrival and would continue to do so were I to leave the facility. Despite recent departures, there are still a number of individuals with diverse and varied backgrounds, together comprising a team with a versatile skillset with which to effectively cooperate.

[ And he frowns slightly, brow furrowed. ]

At present, I do not believe there is anything specific with which I require assistance. I am interested in any general information which is available regarding the previous facility, the Engineers I have been told about, and the transfer process which brought that facility's inmates here. I am particularly curious about information regarding such related facilities in the context of our recent time in Squall Asylum. I would imagine that I will likely encounter such information when processing our records for entry, however.

[ A nod. ] There is some on file already — I'm still compiling my reports from Squall and I'm not entirely sure if anyone else is finished yet, but there should be some valuable reading material in there at least.

I will look forward to reading all of the reports when they are compiled, then. I am hopeful that when we are able to compile and compare the total of our information more directly, we may be able to refine the large number of potential theories regarding our situation, as they are largely based in speculation.

That's what I'm hoping too. There's no use in relying on untested theories and we won't be able to see any patterns until we have a larger piece of the full picture laid out.
