Can I have your attention, please? I have a few announcements to make.

First of all, if you haven't already heard Derek Morgan is no longer with us. I'll be stepping in as temporary leader for the Investigative Team until a new leader can be elected — if you're interested in the position, come talk to me or Kitty.

Second, all of you who were assigned to the Investigative Team during our stay in Squall are highly encouraged to file out reports regarding our time there. Anything and everything you can think of, even the most insignificant of details can turn out to be of great use later on.

Data, it'd be great if you could come see me whenever it's convenient.

I'll be at the Defense Quarters HQ all afternoon if any of you need any help or have questions. That's all for now.

[ ACTION; OPEN TO ALL ]

[ True to his word, Reid will be at the Defense Force headquarters all afternoon, working away on his own Squall-related intel and pondering how to best report the rather startling discovery they might've stumbled upon.

Later in the evening he can be found in the education center music room, playing a rather familiar piece followed by the second movement of Beethoven No 8 sonata, Pathetique. A little slow and full of stumbles, but the boy tries. ]

	His mother, yeah... we were too late to save his father. [ A depressing end to the story, but at least Sammy wasn't left alone. ] Sammy was the only witness to the abduction, but no one could really establish contact with him... he's autistic. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Well... the thing about autism is that the ones suffering from it are basically closed up in their own world and the way they perceive their surroundings is very different from how normal people do it. Sammy was a boy you couldn't talk to, couldn't even maintain eye contact with for any period of time — even his parents had problems with something as simple as touching him.

[ Does this sound even the slightest bit familiar? Cause it should. ]

He played the piano though and that ended up being the way we got through to him. I set up a simple system of different notes meaning yes or no and that way he could answer some of our questions.

[ Still not the end of the story and she can probably sense the emotion creeping into his voice. This time he needs no prompting to continue. ]

After a little while he started playing a song... the song I was playing when you came in, actually. I asked him about it and then he just... reached down, took my hand, placed my fingers on the keys and showed me how to play it.

	Yeah, he did... I'm not saying he didn't, but we come across a lot of people that do. It's not always plausible to keep in touch. [ So he plays instead and keeps a picture of a blond woman and her family in his wallet. A woman he never met that still saw him through some rough times. ] Doesn't matter much here anyway, does it? 	No... of course not. I just mean that there's not much I can do to change it — it's still important but if I was back home and you asked me the same thing? 	Deborah Louise Addison. That's her husband Tim and their kids Amber and Keith. In 1995, Deborah was walking home from school. She was abducted... thirteen years old. Gideon and his team profiled the UnSub and located her before he was able to harm her. She still sends a letter to the BAU every year, keeping us updated on her life. 	They're mostly memories, right? Even when they're alive they have their own families and lives to move forward with. I'm sure some of them are grateful, but they don't want to look back at what's probably one of the hardest times in their lives. A room full of pictures, but no one to go home to for the holidays. She's not wrong, but she's not entirely right either. ] Sure, working at the BAU isn't exactly the best grow-ground for a good, solid family life but we're not entirely alone either.
