Can I have your attention, please? I have a few announcements to make.

First of all, if you haven't already heard Derek Morgan is no longer with us. I'll be stepping in as temporary leader for the Investigative Team until a new leader can be elected — if you're interested in the position, come talk to me or Kitty.

Second, all of you who were assigned to the Investigative Team during our stay in Squall are highly encouraged to file out reports regarding our time there. Anything and everything you can think of, even the most insignificant of details can turn out to be of great use later on.

Data, it'd be great if you could come see me whenever it's convenient.

I'll be at the Defense Quarters HQ all afternoon if any of you need any help or have questions. That's all for now.

[ ACTION; OPEN TO ALL ]

[ True to his word, Reid will be at the Defense Force headquarters all afternoon, working away on his own Squall-related intel and pondering how to best report the rather startling discovery they might've stumbled upon.

Later in the evening he can be found in the education center music room, playing a rather familiar piece followed by the second movement of Beethoven No 8 sonata, Pathetique. A little slow and full of stumbles, but the boy tries. ]

[ He gives an unsure nod. It's not a song he knows very well but he's heard it and so he sets off on finding the melody with varying degrees of success. Of course, he soon stops at her question. ]

That? That's uhm... that's nothing, really. Everything is good. I'm just, uh... organizing the troops, I guess. There's a lot of work to be done with the Investigative Team. [ No permanent leader yet. ]

Yeah, speaking of your troops. I know I haven't really expressed tons of interest in the whole Defense Force deal, but if you need me, I'm totally there. Maybe I could keep people from hacking the transmissions, at least. And you know me and my uncanny ability to call up amazing case-solving details from nowhere.

[Is she overstepping here? Maybe. But it's Reid's call to say yea or nay. And Kitty's too, but as far as Garcia's concerned that should be water under the bridge. She doesn't get off on the best foot with people sometimes, Kitty's not the first. And even though they're not exactly BFFs yet Garcia has an interest in mending the situation, and he's sitting right here.]

I'll keep working on getting home either way, and that's probably going to get me in trouble with Mom and Pop Warden a few more times, but y'know. I couldn't not offer.

The Defense Force was his initiative from the start, mostly because he was the only one from the BAU there and the varying degrees of approval he's had from his team members from that point on... well, it's made him doubt that decision. It's somewhat of a heavy burden at times so hearing that Garcia would join up makes him feel more relieved than he thought he would. ]

You'd really do that? I mean, that would be great! Rebecca's already on dispatch so between the two of you... [ Letting that sentence die before he infringes on some kind of hacker code of conduct. ] We'd have to set up an interview first but it shouldn't be a big deal. You're practically in already, if I have anything to say about it.

	Consider it done! Assuming I pass the requisite exams, and there's no actual patrolling involved on my end. You know me and field work. [But that smile, that's really what she wanted. 	If anything I can snatch you up on the Investigative Team. Some of us double on patrol, but that's not really our main focus. [ That smile is not going anywhere, so soak it up! ] I'm just glad you decided to do this. I've, uh... No, you definitely weren't. I mean I can imagine being here alone, trying to find something to do so you don't go completely nuts. I get it.

For me, just... [She tries her best to say this with a lightness so as not to kill the mood, but it's difficult.] You know me and change. I wasn't ready to, I guess, replace our team. And I know it's not a replacement or anything, but it just felt too weird at the time, like I'd be accepting being stuck here and that I couldn't go back to how things were.

Anyway. As long as we're here we should stick together, period. That's more important than hanging onto the past right now.

	No no, I get it... it was a different situation back then. You had people you knew here and I guess in a way... that gave you more options. [ Matter-of-factly. Awesome. I can't say no to a little good old fashioned favoritism. [Of course she'll do the interview anyway and take it seriously, since Kitty of course can't look like she's just letting Reid's friends in willy-nilly.] As long as I'm allowed to put my trolls on the desk, it'll be a match made in Heaven.

And maybe Becks and I can get a shifting code together for the Force's filter. If it changes at given intervals it'll be much harder for the unsavory types to eavesdrop.

	Will do! Actually... I was kinda talking with another person [who shall remain nameless] who isn't on the Force about maybe making our own comm system, separate from the Wardens.
