Nngh. It's a problem. But I don't think trying to reason with anyone is the way to go at this point. [ Arguing about it will only create a whole lot of tension. Not that he cares. But Caroline and Elena have had enough disagreements. He's not about to encourage barbie here to question Elena's decision to gain Rebekah's trust and friendship. ]

We'll just have to hope that we won't be too late to stop her once she decides she's had enough of playing nice. [ Damon's been doing that stalking Elena thing from time to time, but there's only so much of Sam and Elena he can watch before his insides start to hurt. He's definitely switching to keeping an eye on Rebekah next. Not that it's a much less painful option. ]

A few weeks ago me would say, let's keep poking at the dragon until it awakens, but I know how badly that'll end. [ If he'd been stabbed in the stomach before, he'll probably get his head ripped off this time. He's not an idiot. ]

So I'd go with the let's pretend to be civil with each other approach. Really wouldn't bother gaining her trust and all that. But in time if she thinks she's become less of a target, it'll make it all the more easier for whenever that white oak turns up, don't you think? [ He's already collecting an array of handmade weapons back in his apartment. Next up? Planning on befriending a witch or two. He's sure they can come up with a sleeping spell if not a: kill an original spell for when Klaus returns and Rebekah decides to ditch her newfound friends for family as most people are opt to do. ]
