day 223: video;
[ she's actually using the video feature for this post and she's looking... well, what can be seen of her doesn't look great, but neither does it look awful. her arms aren't visible, which is probably for the best, and her cheeks are almost healed. thank goodness for superficial and quickly-healed injuries. either that or she's at just the right angle that it's difficult to see. for those who have run into her lately, she looks almost pleasant and she certainly sounds much better than she did a few days ago. ]

For those who may be interested, Sector 3 now has a medical clinic. It won't replace the hospital, by any means, but I thought, under the circumstances, there might be others like myself who would feel better being cared for by a fellow inmate.

[ at least she knows she'll feel better with it here. ]

I've only received permission to deal with small things, so consider it more of a nurse's station and less a doctor's office. However... [ here she gives a slight pause. this is where things will get interesting. ] I assure you that I am more than capable of handling anything necessary. My experience covers everything from papercuts to burns to complex neurological surgeries and I can take care of any species that walks across the threshold, be it human or something else entirely.

[ she means that, actually. ]

In light of that, I would also like to offer informal lessons. If you'd like to offer assistance or simply want to know more about medicine from the late 1800's to 2011, by all means. I would welcome the company.

Good day to all of you.

[ ooc: info post is here for anyone interested. ]

Of course. They want to help us, didn't you know?

Oh absolutely. [ she'll just smirk over here. it's nice to be able to joke around like this with someone less likely to hit on her. not that she doesn't like trolling nikola... ]

Though, I suppose, if someone missed that announcement, I can offer a decent substitute. Unfortunately, it may mean a longer recovery period, but somehow I think it's a small price to pay at this point.

It beats the alternative.

Besides, you probably won't get people reported and punished for getting injured.

I should hope not. Hardly seems a fair turn of events when I've been in the injured one's position before.

[ especially recently. she wonders vaguely if they were simply too lazy to heal her when she arrived or had wanted her to get a little more injured so they could nail her for something like allowing herself to be injured, as they seem to like doing. ]

It's bad enough to find yourself injured, let alone be punished for something that may not be your fault.

Well, considering I once saw them put someone in a week of solitary confinement for littering [She'd have more sympathy if the person in question wasn't Damon. js.] I think being fair is the least of their concerns.

[ her eyebrows shoot upwards at that. oh well, that just confirms her suspicions about the wardens. lovely ]

So it would seem. All the more reason to be cautious when dealing with them.

The less anyone deals with them, the better.

In any case, I'll certainly do what I can to make that a reality. No one should be forced to deal with something so outlandish.

[ there's a warden line and she's toeing it. ]

I wish you all the luck in that endeavor.

Thank you.

[ whether or not she'll need it remains to be seen. either way, it'll be interesting to see what happens. ]
