day 223: video;
[ she's actually using the video feature for this post and she's looking... well, what can be seen of her doesn't look great, but neither does it look awful. her arms aren't visible, which is probably for the best, and her cheeks are almost healed. thank goodness for superficial and quickly-healed injuries. either that or she's at just the right angle that it's difficult to see. for those who have run into her lately, she looks almost pleasant and she certainly sounds much better than she did a few days ago. ]

For those who may be interested, Sector 3 now has a medical clinic. It won't replace the hospital, by any means, but I thought, under the circumstances, there might be others like myself who would feel better being cared for by a fellow inmate.

[ at least she knows she'll feel better with it here. ]

I've only received permission to deal with small things, so consider it more of a nurse's station and less a doctor's office. However... [ here she gives a slight pause. this is where things will get interesting. ] I assure you that I am more than capable of handling anything necessary. My experience covers everything from papercuts to burns to complex neurological surgeries and I can take care of any species that walks across the threshold, be it human or something else entirely.

[ she means that, actually. ]

In light of that, I would also like to offer informal lessons. If you'd like to offer assistance or simply want to know more about medicine from the late 1800's to 2011, by all means. I would welcome the company.

Good day to all of you.

[ ooc: info post is here for anyone interested. ]

We got a few of 'em here too. You probably know that though. [Rose nods.] That'd be brilliant.

I won't pretend to know everything about everyone here, but I'm aware there are others. Whether or not they want to disclose their species to me is their own prerogative. [ it'll make lives easier in the long run, but she isn't about to go around asking who is what species. that's just rude. ]

Admittedly, I'm glad there seems to be as much of a positive reaction to this as I was hoping.

You never know in a place like this. [Abou the reception.]<.small> I think mosta the time, people are happy to have options that don't include the Wardens.

If they are anything like what I've seen of their counterparts, I can only imagine how everyone must feel after spending a long time here. Having control of one's life and choices stripped away like they have been doesn't usually go over so well.

[ there's always a rebel or two, even in a group like this. ]

I don't think anybody's really happy. We're just tryin' to do the best we can.

Understandably so. Easier to do in a group than alone.

[ says the woman who prefers not to get close to people she's just going to outlive in a few decades. ]

Yeah. Gives you someone to be happy for, I guess.

More to hope for, I suppose. Support.

[ one day she'll realize she's already getting attached to people here and these words will ring a little louder in her ears. ]

It's also been quieter than I expected.

[ she expected a lot more protesting over being here, but maybe she's just not looking in the right places. ]
