Day 223: Video Closed to Jack, Sam, and Oz
[Private to Jack] [Martha's been keeping her distance from Jack, and aside from the panic of the tentacles and moving prisons, she's seen very little of him. Right now she's making sure he's OK. And reaching out to let him know she's ready to talk if he wants.]

I didn't see you at the other prison. Just wanted to make sure you're still around. I haven't seen you much other than Defense duties. Are you holding up all right?

[Private to Sam] [She never actually told him she solved her werewolf problem and that he probably should stop looking.]

Hi Sam. I just wanted to make sure you made it through the previous few days all right. Also, I should let you know I met the werewolf who attacked me. In human form. And yeah... you don't need to go looking into it for me anymore.

Private to Oz] [Now that she knows what he is, and now that she's still working through her fear of him, Martha also wants to keep up on Oz and make sure he's OK.]

You handling all the random changes OK?

When I was leading the resistance. I was captured six months into my journey. After Tibet. We worked on assembly lines, and if you didn't do the work, or if you tried to sabotage it... well... the guy next to me was shot one day. And I was beaten for not reporting him.

[She makes a small grimace and shifts a bit. While he can't see it, her hand travels to her gut as she remembers the butt of the rifle in her stomach. And then it occurs to Martha that she is telling Oz more than she should. She smiles and looks back at him.]

We get much better food here and are allowed plenty of sleep.

	Yeah, that saving the world thing is hard on the keeping our of tight spots. [Said like he knows, because he does. He'd fought numerous times with Buffy to save the world. [Martha's face softens as she works through what to say next. She hadn't been expecting the gratitude.]

I... you aren't a monster... the thing inside of you is. And the last person who tried to kill me wasn't sorry. He actually made me kneel and bow my head for my execution when he finally caught up with me.

I know what it's like to need friends.

[Really, she's not quite sure why she keeps checking up on him. It just seems right.]

And I'd be a pretty big hypocrite if I stayed away from you because you've hurt people.

[She has too many secrets Oz. Way too many.]

[He had just assumed that the hurt she's given was through the time when she was in hiding that she had told him about. She's been telling him about it bit by bit, and Oz is patient enough to wait for her to eventually get the whole story out.]

It's the least I could do. [After the emotions malfunction within the prison, he knew he owed her an explanation. Plus, he was starting to consider her a friend.] Plus it's nice not to have to hide from some people.
