[Video//Action | early morning, before activities]
[The video opens to a pale hand groping pitifully at the floor, where the communicator is filming. She must have knocked it when she went fishing for it. With blue-tinged fingernails, the hand finally nabs the comm and drags it upwards, bypassing a plate of what looks like yesterday's dinner (fried rice with cabbage and root vegetables). The food is untouched.]

[Saya's face comes into view. She's trembling, eyes dull and barely open, skin so pale it's nearly translucent.]

...Zero? [Her voice is as small and shaky and devoid of vitality as the rest of her.] And Yuuki, and Aidan... Tear? Laura? I need to... see you. Please?

[Too late to wish for her bed, or a last trip to the sea. Saya won't make it back, if they even are going back. One last image of the people she cares most about will be the best she can do for the last things she'll ever see.]

[Her last word sticks a bit, but she gets it out all the same, because the emphasis is important. It's true. The wishing for more time, that came before and will come again later-- right now, she is exceedingly grateful for what she's managed to get, as her hand haltingly goes over Saya's pale one, and gives a quick squeeze.

It's not a point of focus now, but later she'll remember too clearly how chill the girl's skin was]

Good-bye.

[It comes out quietly but with a surprising sense of finality, and she understands that it has to be that way. She has to shut that door, rather than hang on, to be able to eventually move past. Otherwise...

It's this that prompts her to let go and get up and leave without a second look. She'd have preferred to stay until the last moment, but... that's not her place]
