[Zelgadis didn't need to wait for dark, or to try calling, or to ask those bastards at the kiosk to know she was gone. The moment Saber vanished he just felt it, the connection he'd only barely noticed all these months dissolving as quick and bitter as salt in water. Removing his glove to find the command seals gone felt stupid really, the sort of sentimental formality someone like him shouldn't bother with, but of course he did it anyway.]

[Now he's sitting under a tree in the park, a full pack flopped carelessly beside him, his hood down for once to showcase his stone skin -- maybe waiting for the snide comment of a passerby to spark him into a fight, who knows. It had taken him longer to pack his belongings than he'd assumed; that'll teach him to accumulate junk. In the end he taken the essentials and left the rest as it lay, Saber's things untouched as if for a museum.]

[So that's that. Done, over. It was always just a matter of time.]

[That was the easy conclusion. Harder is what to do with himself now, without the search for a cure and without anything to fight against and without anyone he ever bothered to care about.]

[At least it's good weather. Sleeping outdoors won't be a problem.]

[Raven was taking a nice little solitary run through the woods, turned more kind of jog halfway through since she purposely kept a route that kept her mostly shadowed. Hood up to contrast his, she was actually testing the waters of how it felt to be outside in her own skin; an exercise not going great for at the smallest signs of life around her she immediately shifts back to her bouncy blond curled self.

But when she gets closer, she notices it's Zelgadis and slows to a walk heading his way. Her sweat shirt's hood slides back and she smiles weakly, adjusting her ponytail.] Hey. Taking a camping trip?

[Raven is the person he most wants to see now, and because of that she's probably the person he should least spend time with. Once already he'd hurt her because he was lonely and he is determined not to do it again.]

[But... snapping at her is only going to make him feel worse. He's learned that much through all these ordeals. He can't manage to smile but... he nods. It's the best he's got.]

[She still feels slightly... off about that fight they had, but she can't deny she still just likes being around him. Perhaps the fact she hasn't seen many other people around him with the exception of Saber reminds her that even if she's confused about her feelings, she can at least know he was her first true friend in Marina.

To occupy herself while standing and not feel so awkward for having stopped walking, Raven does a few simple stretches starting with one overhead.] I don't see any marshmallows. No roasting?
