[ Rebecca gives Roxy the booze signal, and she's off like a rocket.

First, to Calliope's apartment. Then, her friend in tow, she drags herself on over to the bar. She's not actually sure which bar it is, but she doesn't really give a fuck either. It's just a backdrop to what she hopes will be a fun night out.

Roxy catches Rebecca from behind, and tugs Calliope over by the wrist. ]

Heeeey. Rebecca?

[Calliope downs her shot. She shivers noticeably, but it does actually taste good, so there's no complaints there. Just the unusual punch of alcohol to her stomach and system.]

You could try for something less obvious, silly.

[Of course, it occurs to Calliope much too late.] Is the point of this game to be the most sober person or the most drunken person...?

And I sure did! Red sports car, low to the ground and with the sweetest purring engine you ever did hear. [And the most fender dents you'd probably ever see.]

And the winner's the winner who... wins. [She steals a sip of her beer between shots, looking at Calliope over the bottle.] You... know how to swim?

The colony I lived in was on the ocean-- I mostly just fucked around and tried to get fish for my neighbors and me, but I swam cause I just plain liked it too. Callie! [Calliope sits back in her chair, lest she fall out of it gracelessly. Thinking is impossible, so she goes on autopilot with what seems most appropriate.]

[A smile, and nice words. She is genuinely happy for her two bestest best friends, of course she is. It's just that there's other complicated emotions going on and she's not sure how to handle them, so she won't.]

Congratulations, Roxy! I never would have expected that, but... I'm extremely happy for both of you.

[Aaand then she decides to lay her head down on the table instead, but she's still smiling.] All four of you deserve happiness.

Umm, you too, Rebecca! You deserve happiness, too.

[Her expression doesn't deflate, but there's a hesitance before she smiles and laughs at that.

Elbow on the table, she spins her empty beer bottle by the neck with her left hand, tugging back her sleeve to show the blue band.] My bootycall got lost in the stabilizer, so I've got to go back on the prowl.

Hopefully I'm not a jinx, the last two people I slept with went poof.

[She brings her arms up to rest her head on them, instead, hoping that it will go far in hiding at least part of her bummed-out look until she can hide it more normally. It also muffles her a bit.]
