[action]
[Bart didn't know which was worse: waking up in prison, losing his superpowers, or receiving the ugliest jumpsuit known to mankind. He wasn't a stranger to law enforcement, having been on both sides of the equation, but Marina's new territory. It's like the sick, twisted love child of Atlantis and Belle Reve (complete with free ankle monitor! all yours for the grand price of your freedom!)

Unable to take off the monitor, Bart had settled for turning off his comm device and heading to the nearest clothing store. Thank god he'd woken up in Sector 4 - running would've been a pain in the neck. Unfortunately, he also doesn't have cash.

He wouldn't steal under any other circumstance, but people usually expect cash. That's just how capitalism works! If anyone asks, they never saw him. Of course not, because the kid who entered in a jumpsuit and the kid who left in a red t-shirt and white jeans aren't the same person. Absolutely not. Especially since that second kid had already dumped his prison jumpsuit into one of the inventory bins.

It would've been the perfect crime not that he knows everything's free, but his conscience is making his heart race again... and of course, the second he tries to leave, he hits the door face-first and falls hard onto the floor (activating his voice feed in the process). Goddammit.]

OW.

Oh hey, this thing's on... [Bart fiddles with the feed some more, before hastily adding:] Ignore the man behind the emerald curtain, y'all. No - seriously, I'm not the tech guy, that's kind of Chloe's thing. I barely understood Twitter, I don't particularly get Facebook, and these wardens expect me to use this thing without breaking it? Or well, it seems simple enough, it's just... you know, prison tech. The last prison didn't have tech nearly this sophisticated.

[He's speaking rapidly about how much tech isn't his thing, even without his super-speed, until he remembers where he is. Bart coughs.] Right, sorry, fair people of Marina Novella. Nova? Marina Telenovela? Whatever we're called, I'll catch you on the flipside. Assuming that, you know, I don't get out of here on parole first.

I'd be more surprised if they weren't playing Big Brother. [Bart doesn't trust the tech, if it weren't obvious enough. It smells fishy - and he's sure it's not because he's under the sea.] They've gotta make sure we're not trying to publicly revolt and stuff.

I'm just glad it's not a "dear diary" kind of scenario. [Bart can't sit still long enough to talk to people most days - asking him to keep a daily diary would be torture.]

[Peter, in general, loves technology. He is a bit wary of it here simply because he knows the wardens are peeking in and he didn't run down to Best Buy to buy it himself or build it himself. He laughs at the 'dear diary' comment.]

I'm sure they wouldn't object if that's what you wanted to do with it.

[Bart'd offer his comm link for dissection! He's half-expecting it to sprout legs and move when he's not looking.]

I think I'll leave that to all the 12 year old girls out there. [Or whoever else in the dome decides it should be used as a diary.] Can you even access stuff later? Because I heard from a couple of people that it's close to impossible.

[In this place, it's possible, but Peter doesn't think it's likely.]

Probably for the best. [He pokes at the device a moment.]

By a few hours. Outside of that, not that I've noticed. They're not big on keeping records and history available here.

That sucks. [Bart's not much of a recordkeeper, but even he figures it'd be good to save conversations for later.] All part of the whole "live in the moment" attitude, right?

Not letting us see past stuff would fall right into that. Or at least free up memory space on this thing.

I think we're supposed to move forward and do better here than they think we did at home.
