[Video/Action] Day 214
Video

[Perhaps normally Rebekah would be commenting on the craziness of the day before and the rollecoaster her emotions and went on (she's always fallen in love easily, but that was ridiculous) -- but not so much now.

She went to the kiosk to confirm what she had already been worried about. And then she went back to the apartment and she's sitting in what was Quinn's room -- which can be seen as rather trashed in the background.

Someone had a bit of a shit fit.

The message itself is short.
]

Quinn Fabray is no longer here with us.

[And then the feed cuts. That's it.]

Action

[Later she leaves again and makes her way to The Blood Shack where she'll be spending the rest of the evening trying to drown her sorrows in glasses of alcohol. Quinn had been her friend -- the first real one she had had in a long, long time. She had tried so hard to keep her safe, even vervaining her behind Niklaus' back -- and she's gone anyways.

So much for that. She forgot the risk that came with caring.

How many overprotective older brothers do you have? [She's curious now, of course.] Or just brothers in general since some of them might not be so overprotective.

Four brothers in total. [Pauses.] Three now.

Oh. I'm sorry. Not about the three but about the fourth. [Dawn wanted to ask if she had tried to get the fourth back. The spell Willow had done had brought Buffy back, after all. But Dawn also knew how wrong that had been. Dark magic always came with a price. So instead of ask, she just tells the story.]

My sister died... more than once. But the one time it stuck, she was brought back by a spell. Dark magic kind of stuff. She was damaged in ways that weren't natural. And I guess then I realized how selfish it was of me, of us, to have wanted her back after everything she'd already been through.

[Honestly? Rebekah doesn't feel that sad about the loss of Finn. He had spent most of his life in a coffin, that says more than enough, really.

Rebekah pauses at Dawn's story, her expression growing sober.
]

When I arrived here, I had thought one of my other brothers was dead, only to discover magic had saved him back home. It might be selfish, but I was glad for it anyways.

Selfish can probably be justified sometimes. Like how we wish Quinn were still here but... it's probably better if she wen't back home.

[And speaking of home.] So where are you from?

Exactly.

[There's a pause, and then she settles on the easiest answer.]

Mystic Falls, Virginia

Sunnydale, California here. Which... no longer exists cause of crater in the ground. But it's still where I'm from. Not that you asked but you know... just in the land of conversation. Plus, opposite coasts.

[She mentally tells herself to stop rambling. Sometimes that's easier said than done with her.] Is Mystic Falls pretty? I'm picturing lots of green cause... Virginia.

California's nice, though I haven't been in a long time [A century or so, at least.]

It's quaint. Very small.

Small enough that getting anywhere in traffic is craziness. [She smiles and nods.]

I like that it's close to the coast. It makes beachy fun time easy to do. More recently I've been living in San Francisco with... somebody. A friend who is a boy. But for awhile I lived in Scotland with my sister and all the Slayerettes.

I lived in Europe for a long time [Like a few hundred years, if not more.]

I liked Scotland. [A beat.]

Slayerettes?

Wow, you've traveled a lot, huh?

[Which Dawn finds very impressive. She'd like to travel a lot someday, travel that isn't laden with slayer and apocalypse stuff, that is.] Yeah, all the mini-slayers who are magically powered enough to be stronger than your average joe but not strong enough to be the Slayer. It's a thing in my world.

I have. My family moved around a lot.

[To say the least, considering they were usually on the run.]

Interesting. Definitely not a thing in mine.
