[Late day 208] [voice]
[To those who are checking the network, there's a snap of fingers. To those who aren't, it's as if the mirage suddenly disappears completely. There's no need to make this public, not really... unless you count the fact that it's been ages since Puck took credit for something he's done and he misses it. Don't judge.]

Well, well! Looks like it's curtain call, folks.

[Now excuse him while he crawls away somewhere to sleep for a week. If a character responds to this in the morning, there will be an IC delay in Puck's response since he'll be conked out by then.]

Ah. [ he's smiling amicably enough at the screen, looking for all the world like a pleasant, kindly man, as if he had only been mildly amused and hardly inconvenienced at all by this whole affair. ] I see, now.

You're responsible for this. [ he wants very much to hurt the one behind this voice, or at least to frighten or threaten them terribly, but he decides that he must try a different approach— at least for the moment. it is a great struggle not to allow his face to reform into something feral, something murderous, but he keeps the snarl at bay for now. ] Tell me your name.

Well, as much as I'd like to I can't take all the credit. Everyone who participated helped to make it a memorable day.

[He keeps his end set to voice, not because he thinks he can avoid being identified that way - that would be rather silly, nevermind that he doesn't feel threatened by this man to begin with. This is just plain being obnoxious for obnoxiousness' own sake.]

You know, most people would phrase that as a question. But that's a difficult request, see! This trickster has so many names.

[ evasiveness does not amuse him. he has tortured people for such things many times before, and is beginning to idly consider treating puck to some horrible torture now. ] Difficult? What is this marked difficulty? Can "this trickster" not recall his own many names? How tragic. [ his face draws down in a theatrical frown. ]

[The lack of amusement doesn't escape him, but Puck has never been one to care much about the feelings of others - what matters has always been that he's having fun. Of course, nor is he unaccustomed to being resented.]

As a matter of fact I can recall centuries' worth of them... save maybe one or two that I never cared too much for. The marked difficulty lies in the fact that we'll be here till the cows come home if I am to recount them all to you, and, good sir, that's the kind of tediousness this trickster wouldn't subject anyone to.

[ piter is in the same boat— caring about others' feelings is for nerds, but heaven help you if he himself isn't pleased. and he is most certainly not pleased right now. ]

Yet you've proven yourself perfectly content to subject all to the tedium of your asinine games.

[Had they met any other way they might even have been able to relate to one another - Puck too can be very nasty if you anger him.]

Really? "Asinine"? If you're that displeased I might have to try again. Let's see, what did you get the first round? [Probably one of the more serious "genres", he figures, if Piter is this angry about it.] Maybe something fuzzier and more colourful this time around?

[ this fool, piter is quite sure, is threatening him. that will not do at all. the emotion drains out of his face, to be replaced with a cold, humorless smile. ]

That would not be wise.

See, here's someone who knows how to phrase things a smidge more politely! [Unlike Piter up there, he means.] Still not perfect, mind; you want to introduce yourself before asking about others. But as I just so happen to be in very high spirits tonight: the Puck, or at least that's what I go by here. At your service!

Puck.

[Alright, fine. He'd play along.]

I'm Touma.

So, um... curtain call? What do you mean by that? [There weren't any real performances going on, after all. At least, none like Kohran's theatre.]

It's been... different.

[Touma wasn't one of them. He'd been fooled by illusions before, so this was no different.]

How was yours?

[That's all the confirmation he needs that Touma got to experience his movie okay. That's good; Puck thinks it's a shame some people had to miss out.]

Tiring, but very exciting and fun, thanks for asking! Definitely different, to borrow your wording.

Good deduction skills, lad! [He doesn't recognise the voice, but it sounds young enough to get the kid treatment... not that most people aren't young in Puck's eyes.] Or to put it more precisely: I got the ball rolling. I would, after all, like to think it was something of a collaborative experience.

[Wally is not amused about receiving the kid treatment, and that should be pretty evident to Puck due to the hint of annoyance in his tone.]

And why did you feel the need to 'get the ball rolling'?

[Very evident, but it's not like he cares. His calling people "kid" is seldom as condescendingly intended as it might come across, anyway... which clearly means there's no reason to stop doing it.]

Well, you sound like a smart kid. Can't you hazard a guess? Maybe even two.

I'm thinking that not everyone had as much fun as you did with this. [Wally's guessing that was the motive.]

So how'd you do it? Did you wave your magic wand? [He's not as close-minded as he used to be about magic, but he's not what you'd call a true believer either.]

[He chuckles in approval. Right on the first try.]

Magic wands are so old-fashioned and cliché. [Not to mention very mortal.] Unnecessary too, when you're magic through and through.

[Sam is not pleased. But he does recognize that voice provided that is okay from the time he encountered Puck before. Guess what name he'll be adding to the Defense Force's watchlist later? He's thinking he should have done it sooner. Classic trickster. He even thought for a moment Gabriel was back.]

[Because of experience with tricksters who weren't really tricksters or related to Puck in any way. It's a sound decision! Clearly...]

That you seem happy playing with people's minds. What if someone got hurt or killed over this? Just part of the game go you?

[Well, to Puck it's an unusually optimistic assumption about his motives. That's both pleasing (he would naturally make an excellent life lesson teacher, thanks for noticing, Sam) as well as somewhat intriguing.]

Pish-posh; I took precautions against that. [Admittedly they were rather flimsy precautions, but hey.] Now if someone is so unreasonably trigger-happy there were incidents despite those, that's hardly my fault.
