[ Good afternoon, Marina. Have you filled your quota of shirtless, fit men lately? No? Good, cause you're getting another one.

Today, Spike is down at the beach. It's not entirely his own idea, which is evident by the rake he's leaning against but at least it's an excuse to soak up some sun. It's not like he's had much of a chance to do that before. He's currently stealing a small smoke break and seeing as he's bored out of his mind, it's a good time for a network-wide chat. ]

I know I'm at a risk of soundin' like a broken record here but our fearful overlords really don't know what a prison is, do they? 's more like a... one-way ticket resort. And now this party they're throwin'... [ He shakes his head before taking another drag off his cigarette. ]

Makes me wonder if there's anyone 'round here who still knows how to have fun.

[ACTION]

[ It's his last day serving off his first punishment and what better way to spend it than at the beach, fulfilling his second? Okay so maybe there were some bots involved and maybe he was ushered here rather... forcefully but at least he's making the best of it. If the best is slowly getting a sunburn (three hours in the sun after a century in the shade can really screw you over) and very purposefully raking the sand to spell out WANKER.

Anyone's welcome to come down and keep the guy company, poke his sunburn (baby's first!) or just snark in his general direction. ]

[ Their previous spar had a different attitude than what is currently blanketing the sunny beach — it was playful in comparison, if soaked in annoyance and frustration but this is something completely different.

Deathly serious he raises the rake to derail the attack before stepping in to smack the handle against the side of Helix's head. There's no doubt that he isn't holding back this time: this is how he'd fight the Slayer. You wanted to prove yourself, didn't you Helix? ]

[He barely has enough time to get both hands in a good spot with his stick to block the brunt of that blow. Helix may be strong, but a Slayer or a Vampire are stronger still. He manages to absorb some of it but the handle still pushes through his defense and whacks him clear on the side of his face. He grunts, cursing, head thrown to the side a little in an attempt to lessen the blow. He dances back out of range, head bowed with a hiss. He touches his temple and face, dabbing to see if he drew blood anywhere. So far so good, but his one eye is a little squinted as his face stings.

He snarls and rushes in, making himself as small a target as he can once at Spike's center he unleashes a barrage of quick strikes using both ends of his staff.]

[ If his heart could beat, this right here would get his blood pumping. Not quite like China, not quite like New York but close enough to give him a well-needed kick of adrenaline and needless to say he's keeping up well. He spent his entire un-life perfecting his combat skills after all, spent two decades making sure he was good enough for the day he'd finally find a Slayer to slay.

Of course, this would be a lot more dramatic if the bot in charge of overseeing his punishment didn't decide that this was quite enough of tom-foolery. It approaches quickly and efficiently and without much ceremony it tazers the two men. ]

[Helix's own pulse was racing, filtering delicious adrenalin through his system and bringing an all too satisfied smirk to his face. This was good, great even, not quite like sex but damn it felt good. There was nothing quite like the thrill of an honest challenge, a damn good fight. He needed to do this more often, it was better than any damn therapy session any day.

At least... until something small hit his back, near his hip and he was wracked with intense pain. His whole body seized immediately and he crumbled pathetically to the sand, twitching around like an eel out of water. Once it was through he groaned, panting and huffing, curling into a ball and cradling his ribs. They'd healed a bit, to a tolerable level to fight obviously, but THAT was not a good thing to have done. He'd be sore again, yippee.

Just... let him lie here for a little and catch his breath. ]

[ This was not the first time Spike's been hit by a taser. Far from it, actually, but at least this time he's not going to get dragged off to an underground laboratory and wake up with a load of metal scraps lodged in his brain.

At least, he hopes so.

The spastic jitters die down soon enough though and seeing as he has no breath to catch, he pushes himself up to sit on the sand. Thanks for getting that everywhere, by the way. Really. ]

[It wasn't Helix's first go round either but it still hurt like a bitch, more so since his ribs were not so great. He slowly picked himself up, still holding his side and wincing. He was a little disheveled from the spasms and he had to shake sand out of his feathers.

A raised mark on his throat peeked out from his shirt before he adjusted his hooded jacket and covered it once more.]

You can say that again.

[Shooting a glare at them and slowly getting up to brush himself off.]

Ruining our fun.

This isn't over, believe me...

[ Half-muttered under his throat and put to a quick stop as that unmistakeable mark grabs his attention by the balls. He watches for as long as it's visible before pushing himself back on his feet, grabbing the rake to continue with his punishment just in case the bots are still watching (they are). ]

...Someone finally had a taste, then.

[Was this thing even a secret? He doesn't even really LIKE Saya. It's not like telling will get her in trouble or anything, if that were the case she would have been punished by now, and him too. He fidgets, trying to decide if he should say something. What could it hurt? He still doesn't see why it should matter to Spike, but why should it matter enough to him to hide it??]

Saya. But like I said it wasn't really her, it was someone else in her body.

First off, not everything we eat had a brain or a voice, plants for example. Second, things that do aren't smarter than us. I, for one, have an IQ that far surpasses yours and probably most of the minds in this damn aquarium.

So no, your argument is invalid. We are different than animals and you can not treat us the same and thin it's okay to rip out throats whenever you're hungry just because that's what you do.

You can ask, you can arrange for things, I'm sure there are plenty of willing sick fucks who'd get off on that.

Sure, I could. There's an abundance of sick fucks who'd love to get a fang in 'em... had plenty of junkie dens back where I'm from too. Crawlin' with vampires who'd share a nibble... just that though. Never a full meal — and that's another thing. We don't just stop at a nibble. We drain 'em dry. People die, it's what they're put on earth to do and th' only difference between us and a car crash is that at least we don't let anythin' go to waste.

Besides... there's a very big flaw with that neat lit'le idea of yours. [ A pause for emphasis. ] It requires that I actually care.
