[Ianto looks as though this all is no more than a mild inconvenience for him, to be resolved momentarily. It’s a lie, of course, and there’s real worry in his eyes if you look for it, but he’s not going to panic just yet. Wouldn’t be the first time he’s been held hostage by aliens or robots or whatever. Might as well try and calmly get some information before working on the inevitable escape plan.]

Hello. Sorry, I know there was that recording and all but I wonder if anyone would be able to give me a bit more information about what’s going on? [A faint smile.] Call it a tendency to distrust authority, AIs or otherwise.

	Well it's a bit hard to believe, isn't it? Between the technology here and the location I'm a assuming I've traveled through space and time to get here, but I can't imagine I'd be worth all that trouble. So there's got to be something else going on here. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Murder in the line of duty is still murder, technically. [ Government agent here. ] Unfortunately I can't give you an exact number — it fluctuates on a near-daily basis. There's a regular influx of new inmates every four days, but the disappearances are more irregular and I uhm... I haven't had the resources to log the actual statistics yet. In my experience it varies. [He considers keeping what he does for a living a secret, but its obviously the sort of experience that could come in handy here so what's the point? Anyway there's always retcon.] Although to be fair I think they got me on the speeding tickets more than the alien shooting. My names Ianto Jones, by the way. Nice to meet you.

The people in charge of this place, is it really just AIs? Or is there something bigger going on?

[The smile fades once he really takes in his expression and that tone in his voice. He might not know what its about, but Jack looks like he's seen a ghost, or worse. That uncertainty and look of being overwhelmed is really the last thing he wants to see on the face of Captain Jack Harkness. Now he looks concerned, too.]

I find it's a little healthier to be overly cautious when dealing with authority, or an AI authority especially. The ones put in charge here are clearly flawed in their programming.

You assume correctly. Our habitat appears to exist in a state of temporal flux and is able to thrive outside the normal flow of space-time, thus giving those who would normally not be present in the same timelines or universes the ability to interact without disrupting the continuum.
