[ What comes on over the audio is nothing but noise at first. Someone or something is grappling with the communicator. Fingernails perhaps? There is also the incoherent shouting of a male voice that might be familiar to some, but with the way the audio receptors are being abused, it will be hard to make out many words at all. ]

[ Most rustling and... was that a growl? Maybe the rush of air. ] —ere! Thank you. I think I can work this by myself.

[ The young man sighs, and there is one final bit of noise as he slip the device on over an ear. ] Okay. Is it on? I think it's on. This looks different.

[ He clears his throat and takes a deep breath. His attempt is to sound braver than he feels and certainly less seasick than he should be. ] Excuse me! Whoever can hear me, I'm...
