[ a smiling, professional face appears on the fed, now that she's gotten the hang of it. Her experience with Stark Technology certainly did her credit as did her training. There's hardly a trace of fear or panic in her voice at all despite how real it feels. ]

I am well aware this isn't a normal prison, but I have at least one question I wish to have answered. What year is it? If not for this place, then for the time from which you came.

[ because the technology is different, the people are all talking rather strangely and of course there's the issue of -- what she perceives to be -- aliens running loose through the dome. This was hardly where she had expected to be today. ]

[ As for Peggy Carter, it should be easily deducted by the video backdrop that she's in the library. She has been doing her homework today as any good woman should. ]

I have seen no information regarding the age of this dome or its planet-- but before I was so rudely incarcerated, the year was 10191 AG.

[ technically, as an intelligent lifeform that inhabited a planet other than earth, he is an alien, an extraterrestrial-- and those eyes of his wouldn't exactly do much to contradict such an impression. but alien as he might look, he is still human. he smirks slightly, not unkindly, at the feed. ] You will find, however, that that is not the norm. The majority of those that I have met appear to be from thousands of years before me, from Earth. You are no different, I presume.

[ her smile turns wry ] You would be correct in your assumption. The year was 1945 for me before this morning. AD, that is. If you don't mind the asking, what does the AG stand for?

"After Guild," referring to the beginning of the establishment of the Spacing Guild's monopoly on all space travel, transport, and Imperial banking throughout the known universe. The Guild itself is an organization possessing exclusive rights to space travel. [ a small shake of the head, coupled with a wry smile in return. he doesn't expect even his clarification to mean much. ]

May I, now, question you? I should like to hear more of 1945 Earth; you are quite ancient.

Then you're from quite far into my future then, I gather. I can well see why you'd refer to me as "ancient." [ although she can hardly take it without a small flash of irritation, quickly dampened. Truly, he could have worded that much better. ]

What is it you would care to know? I'm afraid the year is hardly an auspicious one.

[ piter is awful at talking to girls. usually he just tries to kill their families and then torture them, so... ]

Well, then— perhaps you could start with the nature of these inauspicious happenings, to start.

[ her tone is detached, but only out of necessity. She can hardly let the horror of the war get to her, when she still has a duty to carry out. ]

I'm afraid there's very little to say. We may have won the war, but we can hardly count it a victory. Too many lives were lost, and the death toll was far greater then we could have ever imagined. [ it wasn't until after that they began to piece together the full extent of it all. All those men and women lost to the kilns...

It was a tragedy she could not easily shake. ]

[ war fascinates him, but he keeps his features carefully arranged so as not to offend her; he is not exactly keen on making enemies at the moment. her year is too early to have been any precursor to the jihad, so that at least is a small weight off his mind. ]

The war against whom?

Our own kind, who else? [ men fighting against men. And for what? Conquest? It's only the lives of the innocent that were lost all for the sake of a few... ]

But if you're looking for specifics, I do believe the Nazis should ring a bell. [ and of course a few other well known countries. ]

[ a very vague bell, but it rings softly nonetheless. ] Ah, I see. One of your Great Wars. [ nods, both intrigued and irate with his relative ignorance. ]

Fear not— your planet perseveres for quite a while, even after such casualties.

[ there's only the slightest irritation in her face before she remembers to put on her mask and smile once again. ]

Yes, well. I'm afraid there's not much I could do here even if the world were to end tomorrow. I do appear to be fairly stuck.

[ he notes it, trained as he is to read such small twinges of emotion, and it only pleases him more. ] Stuck indeed. You shall have to hope that your "replacement" conducts herself adequately, I suppose.

It's doubtful. She has a high standard to uphold if she believes she can continue in my place.

I suppose we could say the same for yourself.

I thought you might say that. You seem to be very assured of yourself and highly intelligent. That's not something one can easily replace.

You are correct— being something of a commodity will foster such opinions in a man. [ and there's the fact that without the crimes he's committed, his house is going to run into serious problems. but he smiles, shrugs. it is unfortunate, to be sure, but they are on their own now. ]
