[ faith could be found all around the dome today, but the action happens later in the day at the athletic center.

instead of stopping by to train earlier, faith waits until the evening to go work out some aggression. it's been a wake up call; both forcing herself not to use her slayer gifts and forcing herself to be more conscious when using them. this session doesn't go so well; some of the equipment looks a little worse for wear after faith's done with it. her hands took a little more abuse than normal, too. ouch. ]

[ once she cools down from messing with the athletic center, faith decides to check in with the home team. ]
Yo, so what's the deal with the cage, anyway? Our points work out? Cause I could do with some metal-bending. [ to keep her from doing some people-bending... ]

[ the answer to that is beyond faith; she wasn't aware that she'd have ever tried giving buffy advice or whatever their little pow wow session had been, but who knows. maybe it's faith's way of more actively trying to fill in the enormous pot holes she's dug in buffy's life.

and when she sees buffy, it's almost like she feels caught red-handed. she'd kind of taken it upon herself to make buffy face her problems instead of running away and making them worse. now here faith is, very obviously not dealing. so she shrugs -- it's an old habit, the one of "i don't matter, please either go away and let me self loathe or tell me i'm wrong and make me feel loved," but it's so easy to slip into. ]

Think the day had it rougher.

[Maybe that's the same reason Buffy is giving Faith the chance. Okay, so it's not like Buffy dug giant pot holes in Faith's life, but she did try to kill her once so she could feed her to Angel. It's one of those things that she can't really get over, no matter how much she tries.

Buffy is more likely to tell her she's wrong and then get into a fist fight with her. It's just the way things work with them.]

Some how, finding that hard to believe. So what's the deal?

[ How he found out who she is isn't really a question. Spike always finds out, one way or the other. He also knows the value of studying your target before going in for the kill and although there's no killing planned for the immediate future, he's done his homework.

[ she lets who she assumes to be angel stalk her for awhile. it's a mixture of stubbornness and an unwillingness to give in and let him confront her again. they'd already talked at the athletic complex; why the hell does he need to keep this up?

she likes to check in at the blood shack every couple of days to scope out the patrons (and pick up a bottle for herself before returning home) and it's after she comes out, paper bag in hand, that she's irritated enough to call him out.

she sighs, putting both arms out and spinning to try to pinpoint exactly where he's spying from. ]

Look, Big Guy, I get it. I'm not allowed to repress and if I have a bad day I gotta do the opposite of bottling. Just lemme get this in me and then you can do more lecturing, okay?

[ with that, she starts twisting off the cap and bringing the bottle to her lips. he'll be much easier to tolerate if she's a few sheets to the wind, right? }
