Team adjustment with the land of the lost open. [Business time.] My team is going to cover Sector 6 and Buffy is going to lead a new Sector 5 team. Patrols and dispatch are thin right now. We're working on interviewing the interested and skilled and getting them into our ranks. Until they're beefed up, just call in reinforcements as needed.

Now you can just...stop watching the network and that would be fine. [Because she is opening up the filter.]

[She adjusts the device to have a wider angle and sets it down before stepping into the shot. She stands there a moment before dancing. Yes, dancing for everyone. She's actually very good at it. See, once upon a time Kitty had a very different kind of life. The routine is an old one she did years ago, and has modified. It's a combination of ballet and more contemporary moves with high energy. One of her punishments was an open performance and this should cover it. After a few minutes which included some pretty acrobatic moves that might look more like fighting than dance, she finishes and walks back to the device.]

I can't change the past. I can't take those months back, and I can't change him. [She knows. She tried.]

He's not the one I'm in love with or the one I can't seem to get along with today.

[This actually reminds her of how she felt at the "prom" when she'd stayed away from Tyki for weeks but she let him dance with her. That look from Cross that said he was disappointed. That she had failed. That was the night she took Tyki back. The night she pulled him out of the dance early and had sex with him on the beach. If she was going to be cast in that role she should at least get to enjoy it, right?

But a lot has changed since that night, and she isn't going to take solace in Tyki right now. She wants to work this out, because it's important. Because unspoken things have never ended up good for her.]

[Her throat feels tight and for a moment she's not sure if she's going to stop or walk through that wall. But when he speaks she reaches out letting her hand land lightly, but solidly on the cool surface.]

You don't need to. You can trust me. I don't lie to you. I don't hide things from you. I haven't set anything on fire in weeks. [It doesn't quite achieve lightheartedness.]

Reid, I get that this is hard for you. That it's scary. That it's new and unplanned. I want to be in this with you, not against you. I need that.

[ He swallows, head still bowed. Ashamed, because he does lie to her. He hides things. He may not set things on fire but he also can't extinguish the slow burning agony that is Tyki Mikk. He can't ask her to break it off with him completely because he understands that there's history and a small dome and a ton of excuses. Tyki isn't all bad. He's a good man underneath. He helped her. He was there when she needed him.

It's bitter and for a brief moment he actually considers breaking it off himself. Spare them both the pain, but that thought disappears as quickly as it came. ]

Communication, kissing, and Indian food? [She's not sure either, but she doesn't think anything is so broken it can't be fixed. She's very much in love with him and committed to this. She may have been ready to walk out of the room, but not out of his life. Not for a second.]
