PLOTTY THINGS (let's pretend this isn't late)
I'm not going to call this an "event," but it's definitely a thing!
For those of you that don't know this, in canon, Izaya is an information broker. He's also a twisted jerk and will mercilessly troll people in the weirdest ways (you know, like pretending to be an entirely different person on the internet to spread rumors... or prod teenage girls into messed up things like suicide pacts). But here in Marina, he's at a hefty disadvantage. Which he is none too pleased about.
However! He's come up with something he can use to his advantage. He's been tracking every person who's in Marina (via the network, generally) and has done his research. So what does this mean for everyone else?
This upcoming week, everyone will be receiving a postcard.
They will not be addressed to specific people. In fact, it'll be the exact opposite. The card will read as follows:
We all have our secrets that we need to let off our chest! Write your secret or your confession here and drop it in the mailbox and let it out. I promise, nobody will ever tell! ♥ No names, no faces, just a good way to clear your mind. They'll be destroyed upon arrival!
-Chrome ♥♥
The handwriting will indeed be very feminine, and the return address will be for an normally unoccupied apartment.
So that's the hitch?
Every card will be marked - a symbol of sorts that will not seem very suspicious at all. It could be a heart, a spade, a smiley face -- pretty much anything. Izaya has a chart with the symbols attached to a name, so he can figure out who's who and keep the information for his records... for future use and manipulation, possibly.
Then what?
It's up to you! You can choose to have your character ignore it, fall for it, lie, counter-troll, send things to that address without the marked papers, or have your own reaction posts! Whatever you feel your character would do is absolutely fine.
A post will go up late in the week (Thursday/Friday) with Izaya talking about receiving one to gauge the reactions of the other people / pry. Obviously, what he says in that post will be full of lies. In that post, I will link a journal entry for confession submissions It's really as simple as that! The last week of the month, these will go out to accommodate new confessions/participants, and I'll update accordingly presuming this goes well to start.
That's pretty much it. My brain's been kind of fried for a variety of reasons this week, so feel free to ask any questions and I'll answer them ASAP! ♥
